Is Overeem putting on an act?

He's definitely a good actor..

thats Ubereem.
totally different

It's quite worrying. He has the skillset to compete at the top but his chin is pretty much done. I see a nasty skid if ko losses if he carries on

His chin has always been mediocre. If it seems worse now it couldn't simply because he's fighting the N'Gannou's and Miocic's of the world as opposed to the James Thompson's of the world back when he was "Ubereem".Whether his chin is worse or not you can't prove as fact.

He's blessed that his brain shuts itself down when he is punched in the face. Look at JDS whose brain lacks this mechanism

He's still taking a shitload of damage regardless of whether he had a strong chin or not.

Yeah terrified bro. I'm just a snowflake when it comes to these things .... but no I love a knockout but when someone has been finished by strikes 15 times, you kinda wonder when they're gonna hang 'em up

I don't wonder at all.

I'm not their mommy and these are grown adults that do what they want with their life. Quit being so scared.

Well I can't help but feel concern for a fighter's health since Tim Hague's death

Having a weak chin helped him. He loses fights before he takes an extended beating unlike guys like Chuck, Ali etc that had great chins at one point.

This is a very underrated point. Look at guys like Diego and Chuck who were always renowned for having granite chins in their prime and now they need subtitles.

People should realize that 20 years of training will do more damage to a brain then being ko-ed 10/15 times during a fight, even if they train with headgear and big gloves.

He seems pretty normal in his interviews but dude has been knocked out cold like what, 15 times? That can't be good. I've heard fighters (who took way less damage) admit having constant headaches, tend to forget a lot, etc
Did it not catch up to him yet or is he just pretending to be OK? I've always rooted for Reem but perhaps we can campaign to have him in the JRE.

Sorry to jump in and hijack the thread - but did anyone see the Condit interview the other day? He didn't seem like himself. He was being interviewed by the photographer girl - who was not that great - but I'd never heard him swear as much and he just seemed uncomfortable and more animated than normal. Maybe he was fucked up on a Caffeine high:

Why are you watching this sport if you are so scared of damage?

It's the entire point of the sport to inflict damage on the opponent...
I don't think most people that watch MMA want to see someone be turned into a vegetable. It's perfectly normal to be worried about someones health.

Lol dude, what are you getting so touchy about? Of course they wouldn't give af, they have no idea who i am

{<hhh]

I'm just trying to understand your thought process of being so worried about fighters health like you have something to do with them.

It's just weird.

We've already seen for decades how much damage fighters can take so i don't know why you and the CTE kids are all jumping the gun like every KO is the end of the world.

You realize how stupid that sounds though right?

It's like you want to cum into a girl but hate the fact that she gets pregnant. It's just silly.

This is the sport of violence and there is no safe fighting. Too many cartoons for some of you growing up i guess.

I wouldn't be supprised though if overall Reem has taken far less punishment than someone like JDS simply because his chin/heart means he tends to go down quickly rather than taking extended beatings.

Isnt being concussed several times quickly much more dangerous?
