On the one hand, throwing his shot at the "big time" away over a woman is stupid.

But in retrospect, he could have ended up having a career like fellow castmate Solomon Hutcherson (as opposed to Michael Bisping), lose his girl, and be all sorts of miserable now. Even if he was more successful, he'd probably have nothing to show for it financially in 2016. And have no girl.
