Before u guys defend the actual fight…i wanna say had no dog in the kara-france albazi fight. Could care less about either guy. So this isnt a complaint on the particular fight, but a question about ufc judging on the whole.

This stuff has been happening for far too long and nobody has done anything to change it.

it has to be 3 things:

1. the rules of how they judge is flawed as it leads to way too much controversial or bad decisions.

2. corruption, are judges just paid to give certain fighters wins or are they betting or telling their associates to bet and getting a cut.

3. The judges are just incompetent and don’t know how to score fights?

It has to be one of those things, right?

Incompetent. Albazi is a nobody. It doesnt make any sense why they'd collude to give him a win.

tieed of having the same guys fight for a title …. Now they have a fresh contender ?

either way that was whack …. Albazi thought he lost himself you could see it on his face after the fight before the decision was read

but everyone knows …. *don’t leave it to the judges*

The fans are more incompetent than the judges tbh, fans see things that just aren’t there and are often affected by misleading commentary. You had a bunch of people calling Islam-Volk a robbery even though the judges got that one spot on, that tells you everything you need to know.

I'm thinking incompetence - so tired of all this BS ass judging. That one seemed fairly clear to me.

"Don't leave it in the judges hands" - so easy to say, but when you have competitive fights it's just not going to happen. This sport is long overdue for an MMA judging overhaul.

Although, after watching the Lomachenko Haney fight I can't say that boxing is much better.

I thought it was funny that the commentary crew was discounting octagon control. The judges clearly still count that very highly.

It's far too subjective.

I think the solution is 2 judges and stats. The judges score the round and now that we have stat tracking come up with a point system similar to all of the fantasy games out there. Person with the most points per round wins the round for the "stat judge"

Incompetence first and foremost. Flawed in the sense it’s so subjective, but you’re always going to have that. I think it would be very beneficial if the judges gave brief explanations of why they scored the round the way they did. At worst, it would show a misunderstanding of the criteria but at best, would give fighters a better idea of what they’re looking for.

Chris Lee gave Albazi round 4. The most obvious round of them all. No fan is that incompetent.

No they are muricans... They are used to favor wrestlers in any mma fight since its the house specialty.

This. I thought I was tripping balls listening to Michael and Laura

It's corrupt. Pay attention to commentary and you'll know who will get the decision if the fight is not an absolute domination by the party that was expected to lose.
In rbis example, the commentary spent 3 rounds coaching Amir and ignoring Kai altogether. Only once the stats have shown on screen did they start changing theirbtune because it sounded ridiculous. Then the live odds flipped to an extreme degree and the schtick was up.
