Rockhold was so good in his prime

Some people can't put his personality aside and be unbiased

I 100% agree.
I hate his cocky attitude. I celebrated each of his losses.
But you can't deny the talent.

And that is the same for Conor, BJ Penn and many other fighters I loved to hate.
Hell, most times you hate a fighter, it is because he is good... or else, why would you hate someone that takes a beating every couple of months?

What a coincidence that one eyed willie so happened to catch up with everyone else once testing got stricter. And, he doesn't stay on top very long after being shopworn from fighting roiders all his career. The fact remains he made it to the top anyways. Natty Goat!

No. He didn't catch up with anyone. Here are the facts.

In March 2016 Bisping was ranked 6th and had still not beat a Top 5 fighter in his UFC career.
Look at all of his wins just before the belt fight. None of them are against Top 5 fighters.
None of the other Top 5 contenders could step in to fight Rockhold when Weidman couldn't make the fight.
So Bisping got lucky and was able to step in for the fight.
He did legitimately TKO Rockhold though. As the next several fights showed, Rockhold had a major hole in his defense.
So he then defends against an unranked mid-40's Dan Henderson for his first belt defense.

Having said all of the above. I am happy for Bisping getting a belt. He always showed up and gave 200% on his fights. I just wish he had defended against a legitimate MW instead of Henderson and opportunist GSP (who wouldn't dare take on anyone who was legitimate in the Top 5 for MW).
