Is Mark Hunt 1st round KO over Mir the biggest lock in MMA history?

(Well except for Mendes over McKenzie)

No disrespect to Frank, but he's been KO'd 8 times in his career and taken a lot of abuse in other fights. He's clearly lost a step in recent years and had he retired before his back to back KO wins, people would still have said he did it too late. Hunt is no spring chicken himself but the Stipe fight aside he has still looked excellent throughout his UFC career and should have more than enough left in the tank to put Mir away.

Try as I might, I can't see the fight going any other way. Mir isn't a spectacular wrestler, Hunt's TD defence and raw physical strength should be enough to keep him upright and out of danger of any subs.

No.

If Mir gets ahold of him and takes him down, it could be him subbing Hunt as an equal lock.

mortgage the house and put it on Hunt
if you are so sure

No never count out Frank Mir he broke fucking Nogueira's arm he is nasty.

Mir took down Arlovski, Roy multiple times, and Overeem.

He has ways of getting it to the ground. His standup is decent enough to the point where he can set up a takedown. No disrespect to 42 years but Mark Hunt has also considerably lost a step.

You're a fucking idiot if you think this fight is one sided one way or another.

I think the under 1.5 rounds is a good bet.

I can see a first-round KO happening but it's far from a lock. I'm sure Frank Mir's camp is doing everything in their power to come up with a game plan that does not involve trading punches with Hunt.

No, I'm going with Mir with the upset.
Mir last Ko loss was in 2013 Vs Barnett.
Reem, AA, Big Foot & Duffee didn't Ko him.
Mir chance of getting a trip/takedown and sub Hunt is very possible.

No. If he can avoid getting hit, he's got this one on the ground.

I don't want to see this fight, because more than any other, I think, I don't want to see either fighter lose.

Bigger locks have been picked.

Lol at a 42 year old being a lock for anything.

Ronda bashing Bethe was the closest thing to a lock.

Pretty much a coin toss to me. If Mir takes him down with ease it's most likely over. If it stays up Hunt probably wins. One thing to consider also is that Mir can also land some bombs and might catch Hunt with something on the feet. The under 1.5 rounds can be a nice bet. I will probably drop a little on Mir if he becomes a bigger underdog.

Conor by upper cut KO, round 1.

The majority of Marks losses have come by straight armbars, kimuras and americanas.

Frank is pretty good at those

Exactly. I'm actually leaning Mir. The problem is that you never know which version of these 2 fighters will show up. One of them is 18-10 and the other is 11-10.

I see the rampant Conor threads have taken their toll on you lol

While I agree he's inconsistent, I'll say Mir's record has a lot to do with fighting great fighters consistently. He's had a gruesome lineup. You may not think Duffee or Bigfoot are that big of a deal, but he was actually underdog for those.
