I love watching Lyoto fight, i know hes had a couple stinkers in the past but when he wins he almost always looks amazing. I feel like he still has what it takes to hang with the best at 185, he fought a murderers row in Weidman, Rockhold and Romero. I think its basically a given that he beats Hendo again, so who would you guys like to see him face next? Or should he hang em up?

Personally i would love to see him fight Anderson if theyre willing, or Uriah Hall or Tim Kennedy if he returns

He wont ever fight anderson, but i do think he can beat B talent...but maybe its time to consider an exit strategy...

He's done as a contender. His movement and reflexes have slowed with age, and it definitely shows. He'll still be put in there for fun fights though.

The Romero fight was the nail in the coffin. The fight with Hendo won't say much regardless of who wins given how poorly Hendo's looked, and Machida's decline.

He looked good against Weidman, looked decent against Rockhold and competitive against Romero. But I think it's safe for us to say he's past his prime. We will learn a lot from his next fight I think, and how his new strength and conditioning program will have worked for him.

The Romero loss was brutal and am thinking a couple of painful losses close together has shortened his career.

I am not excited about a fight with Hendo. He has the death touch and really not much to gain (outside of money) by fighting him again.

Nailed it.

Much respect, but Lyoto's done. He's an intelligent guy. I hope he doesn't stay in too long and come out asking if you've seen his baseball.

Should cut to WW.

Plenty of great fights there for The Dragon.

Never liked Machida much until lately - I still wouldn't go as far as to say I "like" him.

He's definitely finished in my opinion. He can still win fights at MW, and perhaps even at 205, but he's not been up there for a while. I do agree with what Gegard said about his decline in fitness etc, it does seem a little suspect.

Against the top 4-5 guys in that division he'll lose - same for 205 if he revisited.

I don't think he'll ever be title shot material again, but credit to the guy, he went 5 with Chris and had great success late on.

I'd match him up against Bisping ;)

I would just say that we are not in the Machida Era anymore.
Everything else is open to interpretation

No he's not done TS. MMA fans tend to me over anxious with this whole "he's done" thing when a fighters slips up, they have this perception that a fighter needs to stay at the very top to keep fighting. Reality is that he's the 5th ranked MW in the world and based on that alone he's not "done" He's fought 3 of the toughest MW's and fought a competitive fight with two of them. If you look at the top 15 rankings Machida would be favored to beat more then half of those guys, and that is the top 15 in the premier organization in the world. He's certainly older and maybe not the physical prime he was years ago, but along with age comes experience and skill gain which is the case with many fighters is it balances out. You have guys like Andrei, Werdum, Cormier, Belfort still at the top of the divisions in their late 30s.

So no, he's not done. If he starts to get KO'd and lose to lower ranked guy and drops out of the top 15 then its time to hang it up

I don't know...
His next "long" fight will tell us a lot especially since he started to train ( S&C ) with Curson which imo is a very good move cause he
implements the perfect type of training for someone like Machida ( who has the best style and innate physical attributes to benefits from this speed of sport marinovich training style )...
If this doesn't rejuvenate him then he is toast !

just stop

Any particular reason why that post had you rustled?

If he wants his MMA career to continue it may be worth considering.

The current MWs are too big and strong for him.

Imagine Machida vs Wonderboy or even Condit.

He cant make 170. He allready said 185 was a very hard cut.

If he's done then I don't know what you would call Dan Henderson. Love Hendo but Machida should be get an easy spectacular head kick KO like this

I think it's all or nothing for him in the Weidman fight, imo it is his last shot at gold and sadly he fall short. I think he can still win fights, but it's gotta take him a good streak of wins to be able to be in the MW contender talks again.

he can still have some exciting fights, but against the elite he has no chance now
