I mean, after Fedor of course.
Fedor's legacy is still untouched.

However, Khabib is the first UFC champ from Russia, so you can compare him to others, like:

Vovchanchyn
Taktarov

What do you think?

Hmmm. Interesting question. Because Vovchanchyn is right up there. Khabib may or may not be. But he has the opportunity to be number one if he can defend a shitload of times and retire undefeated.

That’s all I’m willing to say right now.

He is number one. Fedor is from Ukraine.

It's LW division , man...if he defends more than 3 times, that's an accomplishment of the century.

But 3 defences probably would not put him above Fedor in most people’s eyes I bet. His fanbase is big and loyal.

Now that he's champ, maybe people will stop avoiding him and he can rake up his title-defense count. I already expect another title fight before Tony is fully ready and takes on Khabib. I don't expect it to be GSP though. Who's next, Poirier or Gaethje or?

Slightly offtopic

Igor is still #2 imo, his resume is deep as fuck. Give Khabib few more fights against top caliber opponents and he'll surpass that mark though.

Depends. Fedor was a much better striker than Khabib, but Khabib is a much better grappler, and maybe the best overall grappler in the history of the sport. His book isn't completely written yet, so we don't know.

i love fedor and he is the russian GOAT, but let´s face it, khabib has still plenty of time in his career to achieve more. he could even fedor some day in the future

but i doubt it, he has a hole in his game: his striking

fedor had zero problem in directly brawling with anyone

That's why it's too early to compare him to Fedor.

But what about comparing him to Igor? Or Taktarov?

Khabib is from Dagestan so he can't be number one because he's not pure erhnic Russian amirite?

I honestly tried to name a thread as clear as possible to avoid this digging LOL

After his left his management, the one everyone hated and shat on back in the day, Vadim Finkelstein, he got progressively worse. He surrounded himself with a bunch of yes-men, and he totally threw out every technique and strategy he had before. I don't see Khabib doing that. His striking is moderately effective, and I see it becoming more so.
