Is Khabib a better representative of Sambo than Fedor?

Sambo from my understanding though it's more similar to Judo than wrestling due to the gi, is a combination of wrestling and judo. I think that's how Dan Henderson put it too, when he was once asked about it, perhaps close to when he fought Fedor, I don't remember for sure.

Fedor had much better Judo credentials, and really Khabib doesn't seem to have ANY Judo or wrestling credentials to speak of. However, I wonder if it was Khabib who really represent Sambo best, because he seems like a guy who really combined Judo and wrestling the best in MMA. People talk about his takedown skills, but I feel like I've seen better. He was shut down by Tibau, but I don't see Tibau, if everything equal, shutting down GSP, or even Edgar really, or even Weidman, and Askren, and the list goes on. What is unique about Khabib is the fact how he can combined the two so seemlessly.

So, do you think Khabib represent the art of Sambo the best by mixing the wrestling and judo so effortlessly?

Fedor is Fedor.
No one else comes close.
Besides, fedor was Fedor in a complete different era... and yet... he was king.
 
Generally lower weight classes are more technically sound, so yes he probably represents pure Sambo technique better.

Khabib is miles ahead of Fedor in regards to grappling, and pressure, but not even close to Fedor on the feet . Khabib to me is more of a wrestler, Fedor is the real Sambo guy.
 
Both are legit... Sambo background is just awesome for the top tier guys in MMA. Fedor had the better striking... but both and that Ground and Pound. #WMD!!!
 
We'll see when he's retired. Right now I'd say no but... Khabib has never lost.

If he can keep that up for even longer than Fedor did, in this modern era... That would be truly incredible
 
Fedor was Russian National Judo team member and World Combat Sambo champ. He has more judo oriented style and obviously lightyears ahead of Khabib in striking. Fedor also says he doesn't like to shoot for the legs. He only likes upper body takedowns from the clinch.

Khabib has more of a wrestling style. He does shoot for the legs in addition to upper body takedowns from the clinch. Khabib has worse striking than Fedor but has better takedowns relative to his division. Submission skills are about equal, but I would give the edge to Fedor.

They are both very different but both represent Sambo very well.

Khabib just beats up on people with bad wrestling.

Well Khabib is doing it (for the most part) vs guys smaller then him while Fedor did it (for the most part) vs guys bigger then him

Agreed...I feel Fedor´s got a more "intuitive" submission game than Khabib, clearly more lethal.
