I thought it died down, but I guess not. I was just not in the wrong demographic to be exposed to it. My coworkers' daughters are absolutely insane about KPOP Demon Hunters and their crushes are all KPOP guys. Apparently KPop Demon Hunters is the biggest thing ever from Netflix

It grows more and more. I never heard about it until 6 years ago but you see more kpoppers on American tv. When BTS goes on tour next year it will take a huge spike up even more. Social media loves them some dance moves.

There is no ceiling

Kpop been around for more then 10 years now..

At the end it is, especially since all of it’s innovators have chooses to off themselves..

Nobody left to teach and keep prospering.

Yeah, it is becoming more mainstream. Now girls want to bang Korean dudes and even black chicks.
These guys look like chicks too.

Yes it broke into worldwide appeal probably 10 years ago. Acts like BTS, Kara, Seventeen, Blackpink.

If anything demon hunters is the first actual new act to break mainstream in a long time so not necessarily getting more popular just something new (and even then the 2 main vocalist are technically American )

I vaguely remember seeing a K-Pop genre in iTunes, but didn't see a J-Pop genre there. Boo. They do have a bunch of Japanese songs though.

Japanese music is for Japanese market only. If you listen to it, then good. They really don't care. Koreans, otoh, try to market the shit out their product. I still listen to Casiopea and L'arc en ciel regularly. The only korean song I'm familiar with is Gangnam style, because you can't really escape it when it exploded.

L'arc en ciel rules. Lots on iTunes. I suspect they tried to get into USA market via their world tour that included Madison Square Garden and another concert maybe unrelated to world tour in Baltimore which has a DVD of it, as well as singing some songs in English. What was weird about the MSG concert was the variety of people in attendance singing along: black, white, old, young. I can understand young via the cartoons theme songs, but how do old people get into L'arc?

The Dodgers have a Korean infielder and they play some Korean song when he walks out to bat. I may check out a sample after I find out artist and title.

The timing was right. The world wasn't just ready. Hyde I think tried at one point but he's just... old.

Early 90s Hyde was hotter than the Kpop ladies now.

He does have some feminine mannerisms and I thought maybe gay, but read he has a wife. No idea what she looks like.

The band does know what good music sounds like.
