Or does he lose to the next ranked guy in the division?

He never really left to be honest, nice performance but old man Edson was tailor made for him

Don't get me wrong Jalin is dangerous, however at best he seems to be a low top fifteen guy at lightweight

Probably. He always seems to stumble at key moments in his career. Barboza has been washed for a few years now so this was the only outcome

Idk if him in tears after chewing through an extremely shopworn and outsized Barboza is indicative of a worldbeater, we'll see if born-again christian Jalin is that dude. I doubt it, probably misses weight again and moves to WW

Barboza is 39. He's washed and his chin is gone. Jamie Varner KO'ing him 13 years ago and Cerrone KO-ing him 11 years ago were much more impressive than Mr. Turner doing the same in 2025.

I liked what the performance made him do. It made him finish someone who was going to keep trying to stand up. Jalin went through a mental thing after being forced to brutallize bobby green on a late stoppage and it played with his mind. To the point he didn't want to make sure moicano was done, and it let him flip the fight. It was clearly an internal struggle. Edson made turner have to pour it on, and he didn't shy away. He needed to face that hurdle.

He's big for the division, but I see him having the same issues and Rudeboy Brown has.

Despite the height and reach advantages they have, there's not much you can do to fix fighters who trade 2-1 runs with 1-2 runs in equal measure.

He'll over deliver from time to time, but likely will always struggle with establishing consistency or momentum

Not really. He's good, but Barboza would have beaten the living shit out of him if he wasn't a little washed up already. And he should fight at MW, not LW.

read this as "Is Jalin Turner finally black" and I was like m8 he's been black this entire time
