Don't really see what Tate brings to the table against Holm, instead of taking punches, hanging around and maybe getting a lucky choke. Is it safe to say that Holm beats Tate 14/15 times.

I think they go 50/50. I also don't think it was a lucky choke. She worked hard in rounds two and five for that choke and finally got it.

Holm showed good TDD, but the ones she didn't stuff ended up costing her the rounds. I think it'll be a bit closer than 14 of 15...

no way more like 60-40 or 50-50.
holm can land shots, tate is notoriously gritty. tate only needs 1-2 takedowns to win cause one will result in a submission.
over 25 minutes i like tate's chances of getting "lucky" 2 or 3 times

I don't see how you can say 14/15 when Tate caught Holly in that choke and had her in grave danger twice in the same fight.

How can you say that? miesha didnt win on a fluke, she dominated the 2nd round and almost finished it there too

Round 2 was a 10-8 for Tate and some close calls for Holm as she got dominated in that round, then Tate got her in the 5th.Of course it's not safe to say that,it's actually pretty stupid thing to say.Holm needed that 5th round or it would/should have been a draw but instead she got choked out.I would pick Holm in a rematch but 14 out of 15,that's pretty dumb.

No. No it's not.

Holly was not smoking Miesha in the rounds she won. More just edging her out in my opinion. Not once did I think Miesha was in danger in that fight. I like Holly and without the finish, she probably gets the decision. However in no way at all was that the type of fight where you can judge future meetings one way or the other.

Well she couldn't win one out of one, so I'm going with no

On paper, most people would go for Holly. Physics proved otherwise

Well Meisha had holly's neck wrapped up in 2/5 rounds and put her to sleep....

So no.

Maybe you need to watch the second round of that fight again. That choke was anything but lucky, it was the second time she tried it throughout the fight and she almost had it in the second too after dominating Holly for an entire round. The second round was the most definitive round of the fight and it was Miesha's.

Miesha is a really bad matchup for Holly, since she's extremely tough along with her great grappling skills. She's proven that multiple times and over the course of a five round fight, she's got a good chance of taking Holly down and finishing her like she almost did in the second and did in the fifth.

Tate scored a 10-8 in R2 and even if she hadn't gotten the finish in R5, it would have been a draw.

That said, when it counted Tate walked her down and ate her shots and kept coming. She stopped being afraid of being knocked out and I think Tate takes a rematch more dominantly next time. The gap on the ground is too great. I also think Tate is going to beat Ronda in that rematch.

But yea, Holm was winning but she wasn't dominating the fight by any means. It was rounds decided by control and a few extra non lethal strikes. Nothing to fear in Tates mind... R5, she just walked through it like it wasn't shit.

Styles make fights and I think Miesha beats Holly more times than not.

For the same reason I think Ronda beats Miesha 9 times out of 10.

She's a better fighter but I don't think she could hold off submissions that many times. If she spent a little more time grappling just to improve her sub defense and ability to get back to the feet, then it would probably be a pretty routine win most of the time, but Miesha had her in trouble quickly both times she took her down so 14/15 is probably going to be tough to do with her weak ground game.

No, she probably beats her 5/10 times..until she becomes better at the GG.

Being one-dimensional can only get you so far. Holly's strikes were predominantly designed to keep Tate at bay. She inflicted almost no damage to Miesha, we all saw he face after the fight. Holm was ahead on points, ok, but every time she engaged there was that threat of a TD and in a 5 rounder there should be enough opportunities for TDs and thus enough to give Miesha a bit more chance at winning

Don't think so. Everytime it hit the mat Holly was in big trouble. And she never had Miesha in trouble standing despite dominating her on her way to a UD. I would say it's 50/50 or maybe a slight edge for Holly because Miesha has to get it to the mat.

Holm was leading the scorecard but Tate was never in danger. Holm almost got submitted in the second round, only to get grapplefucked into unconsciousness in the fifth.

Her lack of power really shows when she doesn't have someone coming straight after her. That combined with the level of dominance Tate showed when it did hit the mat doesn't convince me she'd be such a heavy favourite in a rematch.
