How could a woman separate the 2 guys effectively if someone was rocked, didn't know what was going on, and insisted on still fighting?

I think it's safe for women.

It's not safe for the fighter who might be getting his ass beat though. I mean, imagine a chick trying to get Bigfoot away from Overeem.

Safe?

Yes they are the best people to judge the fight on the new criteria of aggression, octagon control, and gender pay gap.

I think so. I would like to see more female refs.

Are we talking about women or weight classes? Is it safe for a FlW ref to ref an HW fight?

Anyway, their is an expectation that you stop when the ref jumps in, if one HW refuses to stop it would be difficult for anyone to stop him (man or woman) so more security would rush in.

I don't think so. Ideally it would be a dude in the same or higher weight class, just to stop some extreme shit from happening.

Referees should not separate fighters. Each fighter should have an electroshocker attached to him, activated when he does something stupid or doesn't listen to referee.
Best place for a shocker would be a groin protector.

This thread shows there's fans so new they don't even remember Kim Winslow.

She had a history of letting fighters take abuse. She'd be a sherdog favourite if she started reffing again.

The controversy in the Lombard - Dolloway fight was that the ref should have jumped in and separated the fighters. That made me think a bit.

What if a woman ref jumped in and her momentum wasn't enough to push the 2 fighters away from each other and she ate part of that right hand?

How could a woman separate the 2 guys effectively if someone was rocked, didn't know what was going on, and insisted on still fighting? Even worse, what if a rocked bigger guy thought she was the opponent tried to double leg takedown her?
Not sure if you are intentionally being ignorant?
1. The ref had nothing to do with the controversy in the DQ of Lombard. He is a dirty fighter who threw a combo well after the bell. No matter who the ref is if the fighter chooses to do that it will happen.
2. Yes it is safe to put a ref in that is qualified regardless of gender. Have you noticed that HW bouts typically have Big John or Dan the Tan in there? Who would have a better chance of pulling a HW off another fighter DJ or Gabi Garcia?

Immediately came to mind. I remember her being pretty huge too
