Is it possible to defend against a grappler on the ground with no knowledge (pure instinct)?

Straight up, can a talented striker, once on the ground, solve the problems posed by pure talent or is he always 100% dead in the water once the grappler starts going at him? Let's assume the striker doesn't know anything about BJJ/SW, not even from UFC.

Yeah, the BJJ guy thinks your flailing is an easy to pass open guard and steps into an upkick to the nuts. Game over.

Dude would be a tuna trying to out maneuver a Great White Shark.

A talented striker always beats crappy grappler assuming they are both spherical and fight in vacuum.

Let's complicate it further: the grappler is starting to manuever to whatever technique he attempts to finish me off. Can I break through of that, by grappling, without knowing grappling? I hope you get what I mean. I simply get through without knowing step by step how to do it.

I have wrestled amateur wrestlers standing without knowing shit about it. I just defended by pure instict and the much shorter fucker could not get me down. We were around 16. But grappling on the ground seems too complex, no?

Indeed, grappling on the ground is a different beast, since there are positional advantages, basically you would be creamed unless you managed to stand up.

What if I am much stronger? Do you think a chick could submit me?

Depends on the skill of the chick, but if you hang enough time she will probably do it.

The best option is simply standing up.

I actually read from a BJJ guy that he doesn't believe BJJ girls on average would beat well built guys, since the bigger guy will not follow BJJ rules and simply destroy her on the ground by all means neccesary.

Tell ya what. Find your closest BJJ school and ask for a trial class. Most instructors gladly offer a free session to those interested.

I dunno, depends on what you mean by "bjj girls". Do you mean black belts?

I mean, Craig Pittman had a bigger strength advantage over Yuki Nakai than a male gym rat has over most women and still got armbarred. And Pittman was a high level wrestler, as opposed to some weight lifter guy who doesn't know how to do anything. It's not like Nakai was a super experienced Vale Tudo fighter either.

Pretty sure nakai's grappling skill was also beneath that of today's bjj black belts. I remember Enson Inoue saying when they trained together that he was surprised at how easily he was able to outgrapple Nakai, not because of the size difference but because of how basic Nakai's positional grappling was. He had good submissions but otherwise his ground game was not at a particularly high level.

What I really want to see if any of his students could actually get me down without me striking them first. But this impossible to reconstruct, unless I go full force, and then I would KO them. That's not what BJJ classes are for. Who would be open to see if I TKD guy could knock him out?
