Is it possible that Jose Aldo is past his prime at such a young age?

Even though Jose Aldo is only 28 years old I've noticed recently that he looks a lot older in the face than most men his age?

I wonder if being such a dominant fighter so long has maybe started to take an effect on him?

Like even though Conor is only 2 years younger, he and Jose look 15-20 years apart in age and I don't remember Jose looking this way 2 years ago.

Edit: It could be just that I'm seeing more of Jose than I usually do, so maybe I'm noticing more flaws than I had before? Most of time we see Jose in it's a short interview on in the ring.

could be retina tv's too. like noticing flaws on pornstars

This will be the obvious excuse if he loses.

He's been through many 5 round wars, taken some heavy shots, I'd say he is past his prime.

There's been a lot of fighters that start at a very young age that peak way too early.

Look at Joe Stevenson, who like Aldo started professionally as a teenager. Granted Joe had a few losses during his 50 fight career, but out of nowhere he went from a contender to starting a massive losing streak and almost being considered a "can" at age 28. He's now 33 and has lost 6 in a row.

Jamie Varner is another guy that started as a teenager. Had a great career, won a title, he's now retired at age 30 after losing 5 of his last 6.

Am I saying Aldo is anything like these guys? No....but looking at other fighters who started as teenagers and are now a decade in to their career it's definitely possible to see a decline.

The Nog Bros are p4p the oldest looking dudes I've ever seen. Big Nog looks close to 60 these days.

The 'Past his prime' excuse is waiting in the wings, on standby. Like a coiled spring.

If Aldo wins people will probably say that Conor was just hype and should never have been in there.

I don't care who wins this fight because I like them both. The forum is going to be Tsunami of fucktardery the following days though. I'll just pitch my chair on high ground and eat some popcorn.

Aldo looks his age but McGregor looks like he's in his thirties.

I wouldn't say past his prime, but I agree when McGregor says Aldo hasn't evolved much in the last 5 years, and I think other fighters are catching up, and one may have surpassed him.

Besides the messed up eye I wouldn't say he looks THAT old today, the issue was more than he looked just as old 5 years ago when he was in his early/mid 30's.

his hairline receeding makes him look older then he is. in terms of what he puts in when he fights you can see a clear steady progression still and improvements made in every fight.
