Is it a good idea

Is it a good idea to blow your nose if its busted between rounds or is it better to leave it to your corner to deal with. I am having a little argument with a friend of mine here and he's asked me to post this question to you guys. What do you think or know?

Not really! All i know is when I get busted in the nose my coach yells at me not to blow it! He says it increases swelling so I force myself not to do it! It could all be BS, but he's a good coach so I usually give him the benefit of the doubt!

if its broken, i dont know, if it is just bleeding, then yes blow it and get the clot out of there, it could be holding the vessel open still. iv'e had many nose bleeds from fights etc. and this comes from a doctor. also nasal spray (vicks 4 way, neosniphrin) work to keep the nose from bleeding, constricts the blood vessels. blow you nose, then apply the spray, works every time
