With the utmost respect for his game and I understand he has a very strong will, why does he think he's going to beat Demetrious? He talks a big game and over and over again he keeps talking about he's going to be a mousetrap or Demetrious better not have an excuse AFTER he beats him.
I haven't seen anything about him that says he will honestly. Cejudo has alot of pride in his TDD ability and maybe he thinks that'll throw a wrench in MM's entire game and force MM to stand with him. But in that department, I'm not overly impressed with Cejudo's striking compared to what I've seen Demetrious do. Against Cariaso the southpaw, he was losing at range when he kept getting bodykicked a couple times and he needed to ground Cariaso to gain an advantage. And the fact that he doesn't really have that much power, of course not many do at 125.
While he has the ability to possibly take MM down, I'm not even 100% sure if Cejudo even has a dominant top game because he seems to not spend much time on top. He said he had bad tacos in Mexico against Chico Camus which resulted in his multiple failed TD attempts. He doesn't look like he has a strong submission game either so there's that. And then against Formiga they clinched ALOT and he just kind of showcased his strength in there and bullied him.
Does Cejudo know something I don't know? Demetrious, 29, even has significant experience edge with a 23-2, going 5 rounds multiple times against top competition. Does anyone out there think he'll win? He's a bit of a mystery to me.
