With the utmost respect for his game and I understand he has a very strong will, why does he think he's going to beat Demetrious? He talks a big game and over and over again he keeps talking about he's going to be a mousetrap or Demetrious better not have an excuse AFTER he beats him.

I haven't seen anything about him that says he will honestly. Cejudo has alot of pride in his TDD ability and maybe he thinks that'll throw a wrench in MM's entire game and force MM to stand with him. But in that department, I'm not overly impressed with Cejudo's striking compared to what I've seen Demetrious do. Against Cariaso the southpaw, he was losing at range when he kept getting bodykicked a couple times and he needed to ground Cariaso to gain an advantage. And the fact that he doesn't really have that much power, of course not many do at 125.

While he has the ability to possibly take MM down, I'm not even 100% sure if Cejudo even has a dominant top game because he seems to not spend much time on top. He said he had bad tacos in Mexico against Chico Camus which resulted in his multiple failed TD attempts. He doesn't look like he has a strong submission game either so there's that. And then against Formiga they clinched ALOT and he just kind of showcased his strength in there and bullied him.

Does Cejudo know something I don't know? Demetrious, 29, even has significant experience edge with a 23-2, going 5 rounds multiple times against top competition. Does anyone out there think he'll win? He's a bit of a mystery to me.

Guy is an olympic gold medalist. Of course he has confidence in himself, he wouldn't have accomplished all that he has if he didnt.

He would be stupid to enter a fight NOT thinking he could beat him.

Mouse will probably but you cannot knock a guy for thinking he can win a fight.
He has no business in the cage if he believes otherwise.

the fuck he is supposed to do,cry in a corner? guy is an olympic gold medalist. If he can do his thang his thang gonna be done.

I'm sure he does, dude is an olympic gold medalist wrestler.

I think he looks like a deformed Frank Shamrock.

I would really like it if they merged this division with 135.

The best guys (Might Mouse, Cejudo and the Brazilian guy with ko power) all either fought at 135 or struggle with the cut anyway.

He should pull up the Kevin Jordan vs Frank Shamrock fight if he wants to have a look into his future.

shhhhhhh

i want cejudo to win, wrestling is the strongest.

he wasn't delusional when he thought he could win a gold medal, soo no.. self belief is a must in MMA..

I know, right? It's just unheard of for a fighter to pump himself up before he faces an opponent.

Winning freestyle wrestling olympics is far greater accomplishment than winning UFC title.

I explained my reasoning. I don't see a single reasonable post yet. He OBVIOUSLY believes in himself and he's OBVIOUSLY a gold medalist. He OBVIOUSLY has a strong self believe.

That's why my FIRST SENTENCE explains this that I understand this.

what more does a man need than a gold medal and self belief?

He will not be able to get his hands on Johnson to make his accomplished wrestling work. Period.

Why couldn't he take down Chico Camus of all people? I see a bunch of 1 liners from you dorks. You guys treating my post like I'm disrespecting him. I'm looking at his entire MMA game objectively and I'm genuinely curious to what he's so confident about if he hasn't proven much in the cage.
