I've noticed that his very few media appearances since 254 he doesn't seem all there to me. Seems a bit run down and demoralized. I don't remember seeing him like that after the losses to Poirier and Alvarez, maybe because they were both close blood and guts fights that he did very well in. Almost seems like he's a bit ashamed of his performance against Khabib.

Then the news comes out that Chandler is fighting Hooker. Did the UFC offer the fight to Gaethje? And if so, why did he turn it down? Could it be that his confidence has been shaken and he needs more time?

We won't know until his next fight. Gaethje seems to me about as mentally tough as they come, so I'm pretty confident he'll be alright. However he certainly had never experienced anything like he did vs Khabib, so that could have an affect on him.

Hope he isn't, but he seems off to me. Maybe i'm reading too much into it. Was expecting Gaethje-CHandler as well, wonder why that didn't happen.
I think he will be ok. Losing to a great like Khabib is nothing to be ashamed of.

Nope, remember him running for his life while lightheartedly smiling during the Khabib fight, he knew the jig was up and saw humor in his own situation...
that’s not the behavior of a mentally broken individual

Here still has 5 wars in him if you believe his own words

I think he does

Pure speculation. If anything, Justin like the rest of the division is secretly relieved that Khabib retired and now has a path to being champion.

Hes waiting for the winner of Dustin vs Conor, and what's going on with Dana and Khabib. So there's a lot of options for him.

Holidays were upon him and he fought and trained hard all year? Guy just needs time to drink and be merry. Which is the opposite of Kawner and Basehball Jones, he may keep his partying private and in check. Maybe?

That's how you should handle a loss. Retreat and go back to the drawing board. You don't spam your twitter and act like you won. You don't claim victory that wasn't there. You don't brag about an illegal strike.

I hope the Gaethje that took Tony's soul appears
