is FightTIPS legit?

Shane Fazen is legit. You can tell he knows what he's doing when he gives advice or demonstrates moves. If it looks real, it probably is.

Some of his videos have guests such as Chris Algieri or Ryan Garcia. Here's a sparring session between him and Chris:

He also had pro fights in Thailand:

As for other channels, my favorite one, aside from @Sinister's, is probably Coach Anthony. Anthony Rodriguez is Eddie Chambers' head trainer and Tevin Farmer's assistant trainer.

Shane.

I think that's a lot of it. People just like the way he looks and sounds. His advice is reasonable but he can barely punch hard enough to break wind. It always amuses me when someone puts up a tutorial about punching power when they obviously can't hit.

This is a very strange post. I dont like it.

Not sure of the point here? First of all looking and sounding good are actually qualities that help with leadership...it is obvious people are more likely to listen to you if you have certain qualities.

As for his fighting ability with regard to coaching...a good coach doesn't have to be a good fighter (note- I am not saying Shane isn't a good fighter here, just using the example).

For example, Craig McEwan was taught by his father Rab how to box- Rab didn't have a fight until he was 40 years old lol... (I trained at the same gym for a while)

Craig's wikipedia page:
"McEwan had his first competitive bout at age eleven. During his teenage years, McEwan developed into one of Scotland's top amateur boxers. In his thirteen years as an amateur boxer, he fought three hundred and seventy-six matches, won ten gold medals in international tournaments, and regularly captained the Scottish International Team. On several occasions, he was crowned Scottish champion at both junior and senior level, as well as being European Junior Champion and Senior British & Irish Four Nations Champion. He has twice represented Scotland in the Commonwealth Games, winning a bronze medal in 2002. In 2005, McEwan broke Scotland's amateur boxing record by winning three gold medals at the international level."

People who have never fought can make great coaches, while some great fighters make horrible coaches.

I was being polite. It think a lot of his advice is the same shit that any boxercise coach could tell you. He has nowhere near the knowledge of the likes of sinister. His advice about power is the same crap I have heard a parroted a million times "pivot the hip" it's basically bullshit. The hip rotates naturally if you have correct posture. I think it's about the equivalent of telling someone to swing the arms when walking. Weight distribution and posture has far more affect in generating power than focusing on hip rotation. No one ever mentions planting all your body weight on the foot your punching off which has a far greater affect on power.

You do realize people that watch youtube tutorials are beginners right?

His stuff is good for "youtube content"

I just watched him spar with some world class strikers at a technical/medium pace and he could hang just fine.

Thanks for posting this so I didn't have to, first

I don't want to say he is illegit per se, but his advice is 110% dollar-store cliches and nothing else.

No insight-- just the exact same sentences you could and would be given by someone who has never trained before and just wants to stay safe so they don't say something wrong. I once went to a cardio boxing class at a fitness gym with my friends for a joke once (there were many cute ladies in there and I had a week free pass.) Sorry to say, but that cardio class gave better details about the art of boxing than all of Shane's videos combined (about 11-15 or so) that I've seen, total.

I'm not implying or suggesting he hasn't trained or competed-- BUT the reason people prefer instructions from someone with experience is so they can get the special insight that comes from this experience, even if it's just little bits of it, as it is intrinsically implied to and expected by them that it will be. Hopefully he can improve this major aspect in the future

Master Wong is never wrong
Not Master Wong, but some some karate enthusiast recently.

Although I have to say, I unsubscribed to Wong after a knife defence video he released which had terrible advice in.

He's not bad but youtube is to make views and get paid that's how youtubers think. Mass apeal. It's more the package then the inside.
