Is DC the legitimate light heavyweight champ now?

I have seen a lot of people say that DC was not going to be considered the champ until he beat Jones. With Jones failing his test is DC now the legitimate champion?
 
yeah, we'll have to wait and see what happens with the new Jones drama. If he's out for a couple years then yeah.

DC did his part until it collapsed. No one should question his belt imo.

Jones will always be there though - haunting him and his legacy.
 
I put up a big thread about this subject the other day.

He is 100% the RIGHTFUL champion.

While Jones has sat out for ages due to one perpetual f up after another, DC has been fighting. He beat the most feared man in the division (Rumble) to win the belt, and defended in an absolute WAR against the guy who gave Jones his toughest fight, Gus.

He is the legit LHW champ.
 
I say yes.

If you were to fight a guy and the other guy backs out then you're the winner.

Just like any other sport. It counts as a forfeit
 
Hard for him to beat Jones with Jones constantly ducking him LOL

Assuming no bizarre miracle shows Jones didn't actually take any PEDs and assuming DC beats, Anderson, yeah.

It sucks that he doesn't have the chance to beat Jones in the ring, but failing a PED test imo cancels out any legitimate claim Jones has to the title. (And I've considered Jones the "real" champion until now.)

DC will never feel like he is until he beats Bones.
 
Not now. If he loses tonight, which I don't think he will, he would be the ultimate paper champion. UPC
 
Nope. Gots to beat Shogun, Chuck Liddell AND Bones while staving off contenders.

Then, he got to beat Alistair Overeem to be the actual Strikeforce HW tournament winner. He hasn't legit completed either of those fucking things until then.
 
Jones is unbeaten and was the champ, but you can't keep fucking up for years and years and still cling on to past victories. If it's yet another 2 years it's time to move on. But if it's 6 months then...well Jones could fuck up again. Beat himself and part of it is also really bad luck.
 
So yeah. We can say DC is dee best LHW on earth.
 
Yes, he is. He was already the real champ when he beat Anthony Johnson and he solidified his position when he beat Gus. DC tried to fight Jones, but with him getting popped, it really is safe to say DC is the champ. I hope he has a long lasting reign.
 
jones getting popped also casts a shadow over jones previous victories, so the argument of "he never beat jones" begins to lose some traction
