Is Dariush a bad matchup for Oliveira?

I think he's a grittier fighter than Oliviera and carries enough power in his hands to hurt him, I also believe he has better wrestling and is much more proven against high-level grapplers (CDF), has Oliveira beat any good grapplers in his entire career?

Oliveira while is the slicker submission snatcher, I believe Beneil is the more methodical of the two and won't make a lot of positional mistakes, and his improved wrestling should help a lot in maintaining a smothering position.

Oliveira did beat Ferguson though, but I would classify Ferguson as an opportunistic submission artist rather than a high-level grappler mainly because of his poor positional awareness.

the most glaring issue for Dariush is his striking defense and his willingness to walk into fire to get those takedowns and Oliveira has been a sniper lately.

Oh, that's a great matchup. Now that you've mentioned it.

How did you get that pink belt sherbro?

No, he’s not better than Charles anywhere. Islam is a terrible matchup for everybody in that division, hell be better than khabib

Personally, I think Dariush is probably Oliveira's easiest top 5 opponent from a stylistic perspective. I doubt Benny goes for any takedowns, and as hard as he does hit, Oliveira's been in there with guys who hit much harder. His standup is good, but he leaves openings, and Oliveira 3.0 is vicious on the feet. For me, the biggest X-factor is the conditioning. Dariush has never been five rounds before, but he does show a tendency to get a little gassed in the 3rd. Champion Chucky's conditioning is legit, so I can picture him winning via finish in the later rounds.

Btw, I like Dariush a lot, and I'd be happy if he won the title. This is just technical analysis.

If they ever get matched up, ask me this question. As of right now it’s a non-starter.

He’s a tough matchup for anyone. He’s one of the most complete fighters at 155. Only thing that worries me is he’s very willing to take one to give one and he doesn’t have an iron chin

Miller has 18 carreer subs
Tony has 8
Lentz has 8
Chandler has 7 subs

Olivera also has the most subs in UFC history.

Dariush is a really well rounded guy, but if he had any advantage in a fight with Olivera it's standing.

Not to mention Hatsu Hioki who he subbed with a nice anaconda and Kevin Lee who is a very good grappler.

Prime Miller subbed Oliviera
Lentz isn't a great grappler
the Chandler fight was mostly a standup fight
