...Mcgregor into this Diaz rematch. I apologize for this thread but I was thinking, Connor said himself he was going to return to the smaller division....does Dana want this W for Connor to save some face?

I think its more to do with Dana seeing $$$$

edit, what the guy above me says

Is this the first time a non championship fight gets an immediate rematch? I can't think of one and it's all bc the company wasn't happy with the outcome.

I was thinking Nam Phan vs Leonard, but I can't recall if it was immediate, but if it was, it had a reason to be. awful decision

Nope he fought Mike Brown then garcia again

dana wants conor to avenge this loss that dana thought conor had in the bag so dana can continue to cash his cow... milk is getting bitter mmm

Diaz is bringing a red panty night for Conor, DFW, and the manlet Frittata clan.

All Conor has to do is show up, throw some spinning shit for the neckbeards who don't know any better, then panic wrassle into a tap. Easy money all around.

Should have stopped here!

Im sure no one in the UFC wants this fight.....its Conor's ego/pride driving this match up.
Dana/UFC wouldn't be making this fight
but for Conor wanting it
redemption

makes no sense otherwise
makes no sense at 170 either...

I think Conor's the one who wants it. Moneywise, I think the rematch is not that interesting to the UFC. The way things are now, McGregor's still a huge draw and Nate can be promoted as well.

If Conor loses again, the hype will be devastated. If Nate loses, the UFC loses a potential draw along with it. For the business, I think Conor vs. Edgar and Nate vs. another big name would be way better.

Dana may be an asshole but he's not stupid. He knows Conor has very little chance of winning this fight.

If Dana forced this on Conor Diaz is being paid to take a dive. Now, I believe Conor wants this and I'm curious to see what his plan is. Will he try to ko diaz or try to go all 5?

IMO Dana wants Nate to lose his momentum while simultaneously making more $$.

I'll keep saying until it's untrue, Dana is the worst thing for mma.

nate does.

easy money and a fair bit of it.

and i am guessing that dana is making him do this.

coner got slapped around, koed standing, and choked out--he wants nothing--nothing to do with nate diaz. the only thing connar wants to do less is face frankie.

as an aside, is there a third fight if nate wins?

to me this fight is a lose/lose situation. they could put conor against anyone and he'll draw fans but him getting beat again could take away from that down the road.
also, i assume his belt won't be up for grabs yet again which just adds to the frustration.
