I get that this is short notice. But i love this. Jon Jones never had the charisma the spider has. This is the fight that makes me want to order UFC200.

Thoughts?

I feel like this is a super fight and I'm so happy about it. I think its cause I was worried DC would be off the card, and I'm just grateful I get to see him and the legend DA spyda compete!

I don't know.

I wonder how much all of this controversy has created buzz. Anderson Silva individually might be a bit bigger PPV draw. This fight is more interesting to me personally, and by the sounds of things, many other fans too.

But it's missing the grudge match aspect. It's also not as competitive: DC will prob be a bigger favorite vs Anderson than Jones was against DC.

Overall, I'd say it's not quite as big a fight, but it isn't far off.

NO and im a big silva fan. Jones vs cormier was a grudge match literally over a year in the making to unify the LHW belt.

No.

The rivalry that Cormier and Jones have against each other makes it not even close (as well as unifying the belts)

I am always pumped to see Anderson and Cormier fight though

A great back up fight, but I don't give Silva much of a chance, sadly.

I believe this fight will be more competitive, it can go either way. Jones was going to 50-45 DC

This is Spider far removed from his peak, there's no bad blood, and there's no title on the line.

So nope.

No, it's not.

Jon and DC had and still have unfinished business. Two of the best going at it a second time. If Jon never existed, it's safe to say that DC would be LHW king for a while. This fight had a build up to it. Jon is better than Anderson. Jon is the P4P #1 fighter on the planet. It's good to see karma finally catch up to Jon, but him not being at UFC 200 is a major blow to fans.

I've got nothing but respect for Silva but was never a fan. But this time I'm rooting for him. I'd bet on Cormier winning, but Anderson is a stud for taking this fight. Id say it as good of a draw as Jones vs Cormier

I think this is a fight that can have a bigger impact after its done than hype leading into it. If Anderson pulls out a stunning win it will be one of the most memorable moments in UFC history. The impact of this fight will be all based on how the fight goes

And wrestlers have always been problematic for him. Although The Chris is the only one to ever beat him in the octagon.

Nope i'd rather see Jones-Cormier by far. Silva is far past his prime. I'm glad they kept Cormier on the card and found a short notice opponent...Would have been a disaster to just scratch it and make it a 11 fight card.

But to be honest. I think this one will look like Cormier-Hendo. Not even sure Silva got a puncher chance

He had a narrow victory over Gustafsson and was almost knocked out early in the Anthony Johnson fight. No reason to think DC would be some sort of unstoppable kingpin without Jones.

Yeah man! I could see this having a huge impact on Anderson if he wins. Actually.. When thinking about it this fight is a huge risk for DC, Anderson is still unpredictable in the stand up (although he gets caught way more now), but what does it say to his career if he wins? That he beat a Legend from the division below him, who's always had problems getting back up to his feet, and was on short notice anyway?

I mean if Anderson wins it starts a redemption story, he beat a champ in a weight class above his on 3 days notice, who also used to fight at Heavyweight. Also, Anderson gets a title shot rematch (rumors) even though he's lost 3 in a row at MW.

Risky fight for both and I like it but it's nowhere near what DC vs JBJ II would have been. We've all been waiting for this rematch for way too long.

But he still won.
Almost doesn't count.
I almost made it to the NFL if my grades were better in college too. Seriously, you're telling me that DC vs Silva is a bigger fight than DC vs JJ? Gimme a fucking break, son.

Would bones step in on two days notice? Oh wait, he had 8 days notice to fight chael... Heh..

Say what ya want about Silva, this is balls, and despite both testing positive for whatever the hell they did -- I'd say Silva has the bigger set by far ;)

This fight is stupid, Anderson Silva doesn't stand a chance. He is fighting DC who fought at HW at one point.
It kills me to see these legends come back to ruin their names.

Henderson
Fedor
Shamrock
Silva
BJ
Gracie

list goes on and on

Why ruin your legacy, go out on top like GSP.
