is Conor the UFCs greatest knockdown artist?

Silva/Hunt/Machida etc

Knockdown is failed ko

Bit of a skewed metric. JDS for example, didn't get as many knockdowns because no one got up from the first one. shrug.

In a row he's fought:

#5 Poirier
#10 Siver
#1 Mendes
(C) Aldo
#5 Nate
#4 Nate
(C) Eddie
All-time great Floyd
(C) Khabib
#5 Cerrone
#2 Dustin

Fuck off. There's tons of top fighters who have fought far less ranked fighters than he has. Like everybody raves about Tony and Khabib's big win streaks even though only Cerrone and RDA were top 5, meanwhile Khabib's only top 5 fighters were his 3 defences.

He's actually been much more active at fighting the top fighters than he gets credit for.
LOL at Nate's rankings there. His best win at LW in the last 5 years was Michael Johnson. Don't think he has a top 5 win at WW.
LMAO at including Siver as well.

Siver was #10 to sell the fight, the UFC moved him in the rankings to give Conor a "top 10" fight

both Diaz fights were two unranked WWs fighting, don't know where you're getting #5 and #4

Numbers don't lie
But they mislead, as I mentioned elsewhere, a number of guys on there like Cody or JDS have less knockdowns because the first knockdown ends the fight. Also, at least 6 or 7 of those knockdowns are from Nate 2 and the Eddie fight.

I mean, he definitely had a fast track through the UFC. But idk about cherry picking (except Cowboy, that was a dumb fight). He starched the reigning champ, beat up Mendes. He moved up and wanted to face the reigning champ RDA at 155, no questions asked. The Diaz replacement wasn’t a cherry pick.
Mendes was out of shape and had 10 days notice, and that was the ploy by the ufc to say "see! He fought a wrestler!" And mendes bullied the fuck out of Conor in rd 1 then gassed. Can't take anything away from Conor's amazing performance against also, although a rematch should have happened. And his win over alvarez was great too. Still, lots of babying by the ufc for him his entire career.

He lacks KO power, so he may punch many guys into a off balance state and must be up there.
Floyd said it best, he punches like a little girl.

He also fought Nate at 170, where neither of them were ranked...
