Is Conor the same size as Matt Hughes?

I met Hughes. I'm 5'11" so obviously he wasnt that tall to me but he was thick... solid and... tight. But really that dudes back is probably the same size as Conor... He has been retired for a little but he looked right around 200lbs.

I believe matt hughes was about 185-190 when he was fighting. Gsp was like 190 and he was more muscular then hughes. Hughes just has some fat on him

If Conor put on the weight correctly he would be a smallish WW but not tiny, John Kavanagh has said he think Conor may even fight at WW in the future, I seriously doubt it myself, but I suspect it's based on how well Conor handles himself sparring with Gunnar.

Conor is closer in size at his biggest, to WW Benson Henderson. Matt use to cut from 200 at 5ft 8in, while Conor is said to be cutting from 175-179lbs. At around 5ft 9in-5ft 10in, Conor's build and body type pre cut is similar to Benson.

McGregor is 5'9 while Hughes is 5'8 but Hughes is thicker. McGregor has a similar build to Bendo where their small waists make them weigh less same can be seen in Yoel Romero.

Conor is taller too but I still think hughes is about 15 lbs heavier McGregor weighs maybe 175 Hughes probably walks around close to 190

Im posting pictures for reference but remember conor is cutting to 145. He is much bigger then that. Matt hughes doesnt look anywhere near as defined as conor and he doesnt look significantly more muscular. If they werent cutting weight i believe they are about the same size. If conor decided to fight at welterweight(which he has talked about) he wouldnt be working all the time to get that body fat off and would be about matt hughes size

And perhaps if he really hit the weights and popped some pills, he could fight at heavyweight.

GSP is actually 5 feet 9.5 inches tall (rounded up to 5 feet 10). It was laughable that all his haters thought he was too big for WW. He would have been undersized big time at MW. His height and frame was never suited for MW. In today's day and age, he would be an average sized WW at best.

Hughes cut weight too, though. Not as much as Conor, perhaps... but he's a good 15-20 lbs bigger.

You are comparing someone's ring weight to the other's walk-around weight and saying that the two are relatively the same. Two completely different things.
