Is Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 4 The Most Anticipated Fight In UFC History?

Unfortunately it’s going to sell very well. Conor and the ufc are going to spin the “freak accident” narrative and say the fight was going well until McGregor had a fluke injury. Dustin obviously wants the money so he will gladly do this fight again. I think a couple more losses for McGregor and people are going to start losing interest in him though. There’s only so much marketing that Conor and the UFC can do, but nobody is going to tune in if he is losing every single fight (and getting finished).

Does he really have a couple more to go? I can't say how other people feel, and I really haven't had much interest since 50-50 Nate Diaz finished him personally, but I'm surprised at this point that anyone else really has much interest in watching him lose anymore?

Conor will likely take 6-12 months off to heal his ankle and Poirier will fight Oliveira first where he is the favorite to win so 4th fight would be likely be for the Lightweight Belt.
How many PPVs would that fight sell with equally good undercard to UFC 264? This is the greatest rivalry we ever had in the sport even better than Conor vs Khabib and its far from over.
Its going to be killer! Break a leg

If Dustin wins the title it will be huge. People may say they are over this fight but once the fight is official they will all be back for the fight and anticipating it. It will be bigger than all of their previous fights. Too much drama and stuff surrounding this fight. Dustin does have to beat Charles though, if he losses it'll still be a big fight but not as huge.

In a way Conor should be happy it ended the way it did instead of losing by KO/TKO or submission. That would've killed his hype for future fights, but since it was from a broken leg there is still some intrigue for the fight to see the outcome, it's very much unfinished and people want a definitive end result to their rivalry with a legit win or loss.

Eh, Conor really needs to beat someone in between if Doostin wins. If Doostin loses, it'll be fine.

It won't be much of a contest though. Even if you argue Conor was doing well, Poirier is at least an even match for him. The horrific ankle break will cost him on movement and possibly for future kicks physically/mentally.

Maybe to casuals if Conor keeps acting ridiculous and builds a bunch of bad blood up.

As for actual MMA fans…no lol. We all know what’s gonna happen. Dustin will finish him again, just like the last two times. There is no mystery who is the superior fighter.

In a couple of months time when people are sick of conor posting on social media about how Dustin didn't do shit, got lucky and Dustin got saved from getting ko'd and he ramps up the disrespectful trolling to even higher levels, people are going to want to see him shut up for good and his fanboys are going believe he will win again. The fight will probably be even bigger. He won't stop until he gets the fight beat of out him and i have a feeling its going to be a sad end to conors career because he will keep coming back.

I agree it’s bizarre, I would assume it’s mostly casuals that don’t pay attention to fighter records and just hear the name McGregor and assume he is the best. Plus the UFC marketing always promotes the fight with previews that show footage of McGregor from 5+ years ago and nothing from recent.

I knew McGregor was done even before this fight, he can’t even trash talk well anymore. His run was a long time ago and it was a short but good one. Those days are long over.

I couldn't care less about a 4th fight. A bone break saved Conor from a total beatdown. I'm a fan of MMA.....the Conor dog and pony show doesn't make my nipples hard in the least.

Nah.. Just book Dustin and Charles..

Maybe Diaz 3 for Conor in like 10 months or something..

KO'd twice.
Second round KO is followed by a first round KO
First one to shoot is a pussy - he shoots to avoid the stand up
I'll box your ear off - his ear is left bleeding and Dustin's is fine
He'll be carried out on a stretcher - he leaves on a stretcher
He cheated horribly to get the stand up and instead gets his leg snapped
Then he melts down like we've never seen any other fighter do in a post fight interview

I mean, there are no more questions left to answer. I'll watch, sure. But I doubt more than 5% of the fan base think Conor's got anything for Dustin so now it's more like entertainment than curiosity. All questions are answered.

Would anyone seriously put a big bet down on Conor winning the fight besides the Conor nuthuggers?

Only reason to see the 4th fight is to see Conor get KO'd again so he can finally shut up and stop making excuses.

How about cut the leprechaun and let's get back to real fighters not theatrics.

Canor is gate keeper at best now.

If Dustin becomes Champ and Conor wins 2 more fights in a row, you could make the case.

Still a LOOOOONG ways away.

If anything, Conor should be thanking his lucky stars he got hurt instead of legitimately finished.
