The next people in line for a title shot are Alvarez and Poirer who Conor beat in dominate fashion. Add the fact that he was stripped and didn't actually lose the belt and it's a no brainer why he deserves to fight for the title.

infinite shots? Umm no. Conor's ego wouldn't handle many defeats, he would rather retire for good. He's already rich, doesn't have to fight for much longer. If he gets past Khabib I imagine that he would want to go after the WW belt then call it a career.

If he reclaims the belt, the massive fights are for the belt (GSP, Diaz 3 etc).

If he loses to Khabib, he’s gonna get the same massive fights (Diaz 3 for sure, GSP maybe at a catchweight) just without the belt.

Hate it or not, McGregor has kinda transcended belts in some regards, and if he handles a loss well (like he did his loss against Diaz), it don’t hurt is “brand” at all.

You can only get inifinite title shots if you don't win. And McGregor has won all of his title fights. Frankie Edgar is a better example of the point you're trying to prove: title shot after title shot but he keeps losing. One win streak and people call for Frankie to get a title shot.

Khabib, GSP, and Nate are his last 3 fights IMO. Unless GSP/Nate fight, and GSP wins. Then it's Khabib, GSP, whoever is the WW Champ then.

That's not a sound strategy. It would be a waste of time and draw power (and thus money). Paying his opponent to throw the fight would be much more cost-effective, imo.
