Is Colby Covington the most underrated fighter in the UFC right now ?

Are any of them world champions ? Both of them are highly praised here in sherdog and by the mma community in general . (Dustin was really underrated before some time but now he is getting the respect he deserves .)

Lol at calling Colby a world champion. Shut the fuck up. Who's fighting for the title? Oh..right..not Colby. He chose to get a nose job or some shit like a primadona.

No.

Raphael Assuncao is the correct answer to this question

Saddest part of this is that we have how many champs and have had how many over the years and yet the first UFC 'champ' to visit the White House showed up with a damned participation trophy.

for sure underrated. whoever has the belt is just keeping it warm

Yeah Assuncao is massively underrated too .

11-1 in the UFC and the 1 is TJ Dillashaw

Dude is boring, Brazilian and old so they'll never let him near a title shot but he's earned it pretty easily tbh

Over and underrated is mostly subjective, but to try to make it somewhat of a public consensus, you should use published ratings as a starting point.

Covington is rated #2 welterweight in the world and UFC by both Sherdog and UFC after Tyron Woodley. He is not proven to be better than Woodley, so no, he is underrated.

He is the ufc welterweight champion of the world and just dominated a former ufc champion and previous to that dominated a 2-time world title challenger and people still act like he is not even a top 15 guy . Also even outside the octagon he has archieved a lot he is the first ever UFC champion to get invited to the whitehouse from the president of the United States of America (Donald Trump) . He is massively underrated here in sherdog even though he is a world champion in the world mma major promotion.

He is not an UFC champion.
He is an interim, which means he is the top contender at best.
And as he forfeited his chance to fight the REAL champion, he is not even the interim champion anymore.

Deal with it, kid.

He's an interim champ. (He doesn't get stripped until the cage door closes)

And get didn't get invited to the WH. Dana took him with him.

He just disrespects a lot of people so he gets a lot of disrespect in return.

People know he can win with his hug and hold style though. He's not underrated by anyone.

Has he fought in the UFC yet? I keep seeing his name but I can't recall ever seeing him fight.

possibly, yes.

Colby is absolutely OVERrated. Last 4 wins by decision with the "title fight" being against a LW. He hasn't earned a title shot yet, but got one anyway.

Ppl love to hate. They claim it’s because Colby is a loudmouth, but that’s just a happy coincidence. Some of the most humble fighters of all time get sh*t on for losing, winning, and everything in between.

Might as well be brash and bold and get $$ for it.

i think you mean "the most over-rated" fighter, then yes. Hes a one trick pony that is extremely sloppy in the stand up game and does not even have the best wrestling in his division, he took advantage of his opportunities, did good promotion which added some more zombie fans to his side, but over all, he does not possess anything special that should make him stand out over some of the other guys.

This guy and Colby deserve one another. Colby was a make believe Champ and that's as close as he'll ever get
