Is Brock Lesnar a future Hall Of Famer?

Fought EVERYBODY that was in his way (win or lose), at least we can say that about this HW great...unlike other HW "GOATs".

However, when Randy was even older and Nog beat him, 95% of Sherdog said it was a great win for Nog and maybe worthy of a title shot. Randy's age is totally relative around here. Truth be told, Brock fought Randy less than a year after Randy defended his UFC HW belt against Gonzaga. He was the most legit HW at the time, at least on paper.

I think Randy was still great at that time. His cardio was still proven to carry him into championship rounds, and he showed in his fight with Brock that despite the size disparity he was the much more skilled grappler. At his age, though, I think light heavyweight was more of a challenge at that point. He didn't have to endure the size disadvantage, but fighting elite strikers at light heavyweight was definitely an area where his age would be more relevant.

My personal opinion is that only true legends should be inducted in to HOF, but considering who's in the UFC HOF, he probably has a good chance

You don't even know what being a champion means. It isn't just about winning the championship fight. A belt represents that win plus all the tests you passed as you climbed the rankings.

Actually it doesn't. Thats why BJ Penn was a WW champ, Couture was a HW champ in 2007..etc. You just pulled that out of your ass. That what championships mean in other sports but not in cage fighting.

As for defenses, Lesnar's are tailor-made Mir and flash-in-the-pan Carwin. About as unimpressive a reign as you can find ....and we're supposed to be talking HOF here?

-Who has more title defenses at HW than Lesnar in the UFC?

- 'Tailor-made Mir' is the one who beat Lesnar in the first place let alone beat Big Nog 7 months before(let me guess, Nog was sick in that fight and it didn't count)

-Doesn't matter if he was flash in the pan. Carwin was undefeated on a 12 fight winning streak. Its a win dude. You think Tim Sylvia defending against Monson is a big fucking deal compared to that or Arlovski beating Buentello? Dude you can tear apart lots of MMA HW fighters and their wins. You just don't like it that it was a WWE guy that could step in with basically no experience and win multiple times at the highest level. Sorry, HW MMA is about as fringe of a sport is your going to get. Lesnar was one of the best for a time.

Simple question. Do you guys think Lesnar should get inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame? And how soon if so? My personal opinion is yes he absolutely should.

What are your thoughts?

UFC HOF... Yes, it's a joke anyway.

MMA HOF... Obviously not.

No
He wasn't actively fighting in the UFC long enough.

Essentially this. Lesnar did huge things for the UFC (even if his record didn't quite show it), but in MMA as a whole, forget it.

Lesnar's reign defeating quality competition lasted 1 year and 11 months.

Aug 2008 = first win vs Top 10 ranked* opponent
Jul 2010 = last win vs Top 10 ranked opponent

That's not Hall of Fame worthy by any standard.

What legitimate sport has standards that low for their Hall of Fame?!?
Come on.

*marginal ranking

And in case it needs to be said...
The term Hall of Fame is a misnomer.

It's not actually about "fame," not about who's more well-known, etc. It's about greatness, about distinguishing between the All-Timers and the rest.

Well he became champ in like what... his third fight only only started losing after his near death operation in which he was a shell of himself. So I vote yes!

Didn't he have stomach issues when he was still active? Fighting with an upset stomach is almost impossible and let alone if it turns out it was diverticulitis all along

I'm not sure about Brock, but SHane Carwin is definitely a shoe in

Absolutely 100% yes he will make it in at some point. Guaranteed.

He has 4 wins in the UFC. He has 3 losses. He has a record of 4-3 in the UFC.

No.

How many WWE fans stayed with the UFC after Brock left? If he brought a lot of long term fans to the sport I might see them honoring him. He doesn't deserve to be ranked with the all time greats of the promotion, but they've already let the bar go too low as it is.

He will most likely be put into the HOF.

Doesn't mean he should be though.

in a place where a clothing manufacturer is in the HOF, I don't mind.

But if HoF was supposed to be serious, Lesnar has no place even on honorable mention...

If that Tapout guy can get in there I don't see why an actual fighter who was the champ can't.

Why??? This is not professional wrestling. What the hell has he contributed to MMA?

Big Nog, GSP, Silva, Couture, Liddel, Buffer - those are real Hall of Famers. Throw in Brock Lesnar and this whole thing just becomes a freak show and loses all legitimacy. To even have such notions is preposterous and a huge disservice to the world of MMA.
