Is bringing Brock back to fight really that different from bringing Shamrock/Gracie etc back?

when Bellator sign retired former champions or legends to fight it's labelled as freak shows but when UFC does it, its met with euphoria and joy...

ok so Brock is only 40, not 50 but he still hasn't fought for 5 years and it's only a one-off which makes it seem even more like a circus act rather than a meaningful fight.

That said, I will be watching and eating popcorn... but I do sense double standards

When it's a one-off and he'll immediately go back to WWE it's just another freak fight. Dana told us the UFC would never do those kind of fights and we all know Dana never lies.

Did you say popcorn? @LouisBolanos

On topic Brock unlike Royce and Shamrock can actually sell because he is such a star still. It may or may not be a freak show fight but it will be entertaining as fuck for sure.

Yes.

Gracie and Shamrock were actual fighters.

Brock is not.

Brock only lost to Mir, Overeem, and Cain.

Royce and Ken were shot fighters well over a decade ago.

Brock is fighting one of the most dangerous fighters alive, and he has a chance. (Hunt will spark him in my opinion).

100% agree w/TS. This is a complete joke of a promotional add-on to an already stacked promotion and an obvious effort to cro$$-promote between the two main orgs involved. Here's hoping the Super Samoan G&Ps (or otherwise renders unconscious) the 'fighter' Brock Lesnar, who I do respect, as he's stepped in the octagon with some very talented fighters. But let's end the charade. Hunt by R1 TKO.

What's that before or after James Toney?

I don't mind either, a fight is a fight, but at least with Brock, he's not the headlining fight.

It's a side show fight for sure, but he was HW Champ at one point. He's legitimate, like it or not.

Besides he headlined UFC 100. It brings symmetry.

age is just a number... Royce and Ken have been shot for two fucking decades.

They should just get this over with and have Phil "CM Punk" Brooks v. Brock.

haha. you have to keep up though. When everyone else does them they're "freak fights" When the UFC does them they're totally legit, man cuz well, Dana...

I think it's pretty well established he's a fighter. Losing to Velasquez and Overeem, or tapping or quitting against them doesn't negate that.

Shamrock is the guy I'm really hesitant to call a fighter. Weird guy and weird career.
