Airport pickups are a big deal in some cities. If you do a pickup there and get caught you'll have to pay a large ticket depending on the city.

Yeah that sucks. Its not worth the risk imo.

i got rid of my car so i wouldn't have to drive. for me, it's not worth it. being in traffic all day must be stressful as all hell. and imagine doing that shit in a place like l.a.? hell fucking no. i like being driven. i don't like being the one doing the driving.

Honolulu Airport have so much stupid regulations. I had to walk 100 yards away from the baggage claim area to picked up.

I wouldn't mind trying it out part time in a city without a lot of taxis, especially later at night. My nearest city is Pittsburgh. Good luck finding a taxi around last call in Pitt.

It's in the table on the OP. Maybe the numbers are incorrect

Neither the table or website mention anything about taxes. If you drive for a ride share company you are allowed to deduct $.57 for every mile driven while working. The $.48 is only a projection which is influenced by how you drive, how well you take care of your car, and the price of gas. Not everyone will meet a $.48 depreciation/cost of driving... Some might end up saving and some might go over.

I would venture to say that if you're smart, you can make good money with uber using incentives and manipulating the system to your advantage. As an independent contractor or whatever uber calls it's employees you shouldn't be a mindless drone for them. Being that there are still a lot of drivers and there are still people making money makes it seem like it would be a worthwhile venture if your only other choices are minimum wage jobs.

It depends on the rate (s) in your area. Someone I know was doing it as a full-time job a few years ago but now you have a lot more drivers plus Lyft.

I was an Uber driver leading up to my wedding. This was when it first launched in Pittsburgh and there weren't a ton of driver (and a fraction of the demand as a result). I did quite well with the bonuses and fares. I'd net in the 150 range driving for 4-6 hours on Friday and Saturday nights. Made nearly 400 on one night.
