Is anyone picking Gaethje over Poirier?

I want to and know he can do it, but don't fully trust he will.

Chances are he will let Poirier punch him and fuck him up somehow.

I am. Dustin's motivation is somewhat questionable atm (understandable considering how long he has been fighting at the top and how much money he made against Conor) and I feel like Gaethje wants it more.

Gaethje has also improved since last time (which was already a close fight) and for some reason Dustin's chin always makes me nervous. He has a lot less TKO losses than it feels like he does because him getting in trouble against Akira Corassani/Jim Miller and getting starched by Michael "Bottomfeeder" Johnson always stick in my mind.

Should be a good fight but I'll say Justin via TKO early round 2 is the finish.

Gaethje had a tough fight, but beat a new breed LW, I didn't expect that. Poirier hasn't impressed me with his latest matchups. I think Gaethje is probably more in his prime now and Poirier just has been getting easier matchups lately.

Gaethje just may be more motivated and hungrier right now. I'm still sticking with guy Poirier. A good fight it is that could go to either guy.

Unless Poirier has suffered a decline he should be able to expose Gaethje's lack of a ground game.

This fight is going to a *gasp* decision boys.

I think Dustin may be fading in motivation. And Justins dumb ass is still thinking he will be champ.

I think this is the deciding factor here. As far as skills, you're right.

I think Justin can be champ.

The bombs he landed on Khabib would KO Islam.

Islam has superior striking and defense though so no guarantee Justin lands those bombs but if he does ... night night Islam.

I am.
Since they last fought Gaethje has looks better. I thought he looked better against common opponents too

He looked far better against Chandler for sure, but after the half point of the 1st round v. Gaethje Oliveira imposed his will in the striking exchanges, while Poirier looked great in the 1st against him (he looked terrible in the subsequent rounds though, and the knees Olives landed took a big toll) - hard to say Gaethje looked better to me.

Also 1319 metres (over 4000 feet for our Yankie friends)

The belt is bullshit but looking forward to the fight.

I think I am gonna go with Gaethje here. I think he's fighting more compose and I think that will go a long way in this fight. I think the leg kicks are gonna do some damage here as well and set up a finish.

I think Dustin has the bigger set of tools, and deeper gas tank. But Gaethje has the likely power advantage and is comfortable with pushing the issue in a fight. I'm pretty much always rooting for Poirier, but if this fight isn't an even coin flip, it's not far from it. Both are very good, very seasoned against top level competition, basically at the exact some point of their careers. Both hit hard, both have shown the ability to adjust their approach mid fight when things don't start off going their way. Chins are both quite durable, although Justin tends to put his at risk more often. It's going to be a good one.

The average bestfightodds money line is roughly Poirier -130 / Gaethje +105. So, yes, people are picking Gaethje. But on the fan level mostly people are looking at the matchup and thinking that it's the front-runner for fight-of-the-year before it even happens.
