Is Anyone Picking Cannonier Over Adesanya?

Well many people site Adesanya's fight against Silva to show that "prime" Anderson would have mopped him.

Jared starched Anderson so he might be a better striker than Israel.

oh god, theres always that 1 person that thinks 45yrold Anderson is the same as 33-35yrold Anderson.

Who is picking Cannonier to become the next MW champion, and dethrone Adesanya? Nothing is impossible, especially in mma; although, I don't believe Cannonier has anything for Adesanya- should be another routine KO win for Adesanya.

Cannonier isn't a bad fighter by any means, but he most likely loses to Adesanya 9/10 times.

So, I digress. Back to the question: Who is favoring Cannonier here? and why?

JC has a chance, a good chance. He isn't going to look for a takedown and he is a lot quicker and has lots of power. He seems like he is fighting smarter and isn't rushing things. I am looking forward to it.

I wouldn't have him as the favourite, however if he can get on top of Izzy at any point during the fight then his GNP is among the best in the sport, just instantly demolishes people, both Hermansson and Brunson were fucked seconds after ending up underneath him so that makes it interesting to me

Cannonier is tough, strong, and has really good kicks and power.

I think he is too slow & plodding, plus he doesn’t do a good job of checking leg kicks.

Probably looks similar to Izzy vs Costa.

I'm not picking him, but what gives Cannonier a shot is his reach and power. Izzy has had a large reach advantage over all of his competitors in MW title fights. He'll only have a 2 and a half inch reach over Jared, which is just a half inch greater than the one he had over Jan. Izzy was inviting Rob into boxing exchanges the other night. He was purposefully trying to avoid them when he fought Jan. Cannonier doesn't have Rob's technical abilities on the feet, but he does have other advantages.

im rooting for jared in that one as he would be a decent underdog is my guess. if he can kick israels legs and commit to body shots and not get caught chasin him or following him then its a great scrap. hes got the chin and tenacity to make it a fight as long as israel footwork and speed dosnt stifle his offense.

if jared thinks he has to head hunt and forgets hes got an entire torso and legs he can chip away at then i wouldnt be too surprised on him getting a win. israel as great as he is can sometimes leave fights closer than maybe they should be on the judges cards. a couple big leg kicks from jared and a decent flurry or 2 a round can undo 3-4 minutes were israel was looking slick and in cruise control.

israel has great offense he does, but if his opponent isnt trying to clash into him and isnt scared to go 5 rounds, then based on his style it can leave room for interpretation. also mma judges suck and jared is good enough to get big crowd reactions
