not against Mark Hunt.... like come on? too bad Mir is gone.. would love to see that again
I just don't really care. He's probably far passed his prime at this point, and other than his name and image, I just don't think this is the biggest news ever like a lot of people are reacting like.
Honestly, if he loses, he has no reason to stay. It would just go to reinforce what you and some others are saying. But if he wins, I think we will see him again. They probably have to call it a one off fight, since he will have other obligations. But I think if he wins, he will probably try to get back in the cage down the road.
I'm not going to say anyone has to like Lesnar, or even should like him. But I do think he is (or at least was) better than what the haters say, but probably not as good as some of his fans say. Really, it's not any different from any other fighter, except that he is a bigger name, so people will have more extreme opinions.
For me personally, the pro wrestling thing doesn't bother me. I mean, with guys like CM Punk or Dave Bautista, its more of an experiment. But guys like Lashley and Lesnar have an actual base for their MMA careers. On top of that, I always wondered what pro wrestling would be like if they fought for real, which is why MMA initially appealed to me, and really made me stop caring about pro wrestling completely. So when these guys are willing to be in a real fight, I like that.
I guess I don't really understand the stigma coming from pro wrestlers in MMA. As long as it is a legit fight, what is the problem. I don't remember people having a problem with guys like Amir Sadollah, Matt Riddle, or Matt Mitrione coming in with no prior pro MMA experience other than TUF. I don't see people getting worked up over school teachers getting in MMA, and even having success. But when somebody who is already known wants to do it, people write them off completely. It's like they are okay when a school teacher who learned from instructional videos comes along, or a former unknown football player. But a pro wrestler, even one with high level collegiate wrestling credentials comes along, it's no good. I guess I'll never understand. But I also don't have any bias against guys coming from WWE.
Glad to hear you are looking forward to Sanchez/Lauzon (I have wanted to see this for years) and Miller/Gomi. I'm as excited for these two fights as I am for any of the other fights on the card.
Yeah, Brock should gtfo, not feeling anything of that wwe nonsense. But respeck to Brock for returning to the octagon after such a beating.
You realize many old school mma stars transitioned between mma and pro wrasslin over in japan? I have zero interest in WWE and havent watched it since I was a kid in the 80s, but how can you not be excited in brock and call him not a real fighter especially with how shit the heavies have been.
I don't have anything nice to say about pro wrestling either.
With Lesnar, I just pretend nobody told me he does wwe
Given the age he started training striking, he did well on the feet against Herring and Couture.I could forget that if he wasnt so fake in his trash talk and didnt have worse standup than any average guy in the gym for a year. I have no idea how anyone is excited to watch this guy fight for any other reason than to see him get smashed by a real fighter. That would really suck If hes able to take down Hunt and stay on top of him for 3 rounds.
How green was Hunt at that point and Fedor was already the goat supposedly? Where is hunt ranked now? Fedor is about to fight a one dimensional, undersized LHW that lost to Kyle Kingsbury.Lmao, giving Brock credit for someone Fedor already finished in the first round.
