To me this is a huge x-factor and potentially a big disadvantage. It's impossible to know how McGregor's skills and cardio will translate in a fight that's around 30lbs higher than we last saw him.
He didn't really jump any weight classes. He's always been a huge FW that has fought at LW plenty of times. He bulked up somewhat for a LW fight and now he's going to be fighting a short-notice LW fighter who just didn't want to cut since he can't have a camp. The notion that he is fighting someone two weight classes up is ridiculous. To me this is a huge x-factor and potentially a big disadvantage. Inb4 it's really a lightweight fight.
Welterweights come in about 195 come fight time bud. Nate just fought Lightweight 75 days ago, Conor was training for a LW fight. This is two LW's that aren't cutting down because its last minute. NEITHER of them is the size of a Welterweight.
nah u were the first person to take this into consideration. good catch. To me this is a huge x-factor and potentially a big disadvantage. It's impossible to know how McGregor's skills and cardio will translate in a fight that's around 30lbs higher than we last saw him.
But it's not a lightweight fight. It's a welterweight fight.
theres a reason why he hasnt been fighting at WW throughout his career thoughHe's not jumping anything. He's fighting at his real walk around weight just like Diaz will be. By all means he looks just as fast and probably hits harder than ever.
