Is aggression innate or can it be trained?

I can't help but think that a more aggressive Rory (Rory with Lawler's brain for example) would have done a lot better against a technical striker like Thompson. Rory seemed to be really tentative because of Wonderboy's frustrating range and movement but I could totally imagine Lawler taking a lot more risk in closing the distance and taking some punches just to land his own.

Rory did try to take him down but failed, so yeah maybe more agressiveness but maybe that way he'd have been ko'ed...
Rory's gameplan was wrong and he couldnt adjust it.. Shit happens but it is not the first time Rory fall short, maybe he'll never be a world champion after all

a more aggressive Rory in the 5th got his nose broken pretty quickly. that was a chess match, Rory fought a smart fight.... he just couldnt land enough on Wonderboy. I dont see what Rory done wrong during that fight? he applied steady pressure while trying to avoid damage from an elite level striker. it wasnt a barnburner type fight but I was on the edge of my seat for the whole fight.... but I enjoy technical battles

Humans can be trained to do about anything. Pit bulls by nature aren't aggressive but we've all seen what can happen when trained to. Humans aren't much different.

Aggression is both innate and trainable.

Im sure the game plan was not to be rushing in on thompson. We all have seen how well that works. Rory fought his game plan. It is just as simple as wonderboy was better than rory.

aggression Vs a skilled/superior opponent, most of the time, can lead to a quicker defeat and ass kicking!

Smart Aggression is trained but polishing the innate aggression of the fighter. Reckless Robbie Lawler/Wanderlei style aggression is innate.
