Is a stomp to the head really a killing blow??

Depends on your footwear, your weight, and your technique..

Depends on what's under the skulls when the stomp comes down. Bent hard surface like a curb could kill. Fla pavement could kill. Wrestling mat, less so. The absorbsion of the material under the skull matters, as well as the placement of the kick.

Brains are tricky. They survive gun shot wounds in some bizarre cases, but you take the wrong fall and you're a goner--even down half a flight of stairs.

In reality that is what the film maker wanted to happen for effect.

The human head is incredibly strong, in real life the way that girl died from having her head smashed 20 times is what would actually happen and I wouldn't be surprised if she survived that tbh.

I've seen guys get stomped and head kicked a few times (I work in a prison) and the results are pretty bad but they recover.

Could you crush someone's head with a stomp? Honestly, I would say it is possible but not for just anyone. Let's set the scenario, a man like Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson wearing steel toe cap rigger boots and he is in a rage and wants you dead. 6'9" 440lbs size probably 15/16 boot. I mean if a head was ever gonna cave in then it would here.

But saying that people have survived insane things and the body is strong so who knows?

You wouldn't be surprised if the girl survived that in real life? What?

Im just watching my fav scene from Once upon a time in hollywood and it is the ending scene.

timestamped for those that want to watch the scene. but is one single stomp to the face really a killing blow??

the red head girl takes like 20 face slams into objects before she dies, or brad pitt realises she dieded.

so i find it hard to believe that the dude died from one single head stomp.

You've never seen anyone die in real time I take it.

Also, I think it's worth noting to the guys wondering about the MMA stomps, the difference with or without shoes is huge.

Try a foot stomp on something barefoot and then with trainers. In shoes, you can get 10x the force and grip.

True, and also it depends if your head is resting on a footpath or something as well.

If head stomps from Wes sims and wanderlei silva didn't result in death then I'm guessing they typically don't.

Unless the guys wearing boots or something.

I'm sure it CAN kill sometimes, but a punch or a kick can kill sometimes too. It's just rare.

I think most of the time you gotta stomp a guy multiple times to cause death.

True, while it's...Vanderlei silva/Shogun stomping on your head...vs the people there doing it to are extremely durable/tough athletes themselves.

Then You add in they don't have boots/sneakers and the canvas which is pretty sponge vs concrete or pavement.

That makes quite a difference.

I mean is there that much technique in delivering a downward stomp on an individual that the fat man who sits on his couch cant deliver? Idk...I'm guessing the power would be pretty similar. And i am in no way comparing the fat guy who sits on his couch to an elite athlete like silva. Just saying I've done MMA for years and I'm not sure i can deliver a downward stomp better than my next door neighbor. Seems pretty self explanatory, but again I've never fought with soccer kicks permitted...maybe i'm missing something.

But I've read/heard more than one story about a dude getting killed with punches let alone stomping someone's head on pavement with boots/shoes on.

I'd say it's definitely a possibility someone dying or seriously injured from such a hit.

Definitely could be, depending on the size of the attacker and placement of the victim's head. I mean, we're not talking taking a defensive blow like you might see in PrideFC or whatever . We're talking face down on pavement with no resistance. Anyone could do some serious, potentially lethal damage under those circumstances.
IMO PRIDE was always one horrible soccer kick or stomping fatality away from destroying the sport. It's good they're not around aymore.

You wouldn't be surprised if the girl survived that in real life? What?
People have survived falling out of planes, off cliffs, being shot in the head, having body parts blown, car crashes, animal attacks, gang beatings, being set on fire... You name it.

Nothing surprises me when it comes to the durability of a human, honestly, i'd be more surprised if she died from that than if she didn't.

Curb stomping is considered attempted murder in many countries as it often results in death. I think there was one case were a woman got tortured and survived a curb stomp but still died about 6 years later. General stomp with concrete is no good, but still far safer than a curb stomp.
