Is a conscience the reason we suffer?

Who's defending Trump? I'm not. I've even stated ITT that I'm sure he's burned some bridges and stepped on some toes in his life.

Why are you so obsessed with Trump, trying to bait people into arguments?

Keep your focus on your midget president.

I dont get the angle, are you trying to play a US vs Mexico angle? Or are you saying that Trump is somehow an honest person?

My apologies. I did not mean to derail your thread.

Have a good day, bud.

No one's denying varying degrees of corruption are alive and well within the United States government, but comparing it to the blatant, irreversible corruption in Mexico is extremely laughable.

Corruption isnt the issue, the issue is impunity.

Put Trump in a situation where he has the same power as KJU and he wont behave any better.

See thats the issue between our politicians and yours, in America there are consequences for your actions in Mexico, not so much.

Impunity is a byproduct of corruption, don't you think?

Yeah, i guess you feel like im comparing countries, when im mainly comparing politicians.

The frustration is that US politics seemed to be more enjoyable for me to read, gave me HOPE that maybe Mexico would find its way forward.

Now the path aint that clear anymore.

we suffer because we are not
satisfied with what we have

however change is within your power
Not having what you want financially or materially is only a sub component of suffering. Not the whole picture.

Life is suffering. There's no way around it.

I mean i get pissed every single day at the news, seeing rampant corruption and embelezzement.

It used to not be as bad since i read mexican news and i got super pissed, then went to sherdog and then talked about other things.

But now with Trump, its like i cant even tell both nations politics apart, scandals over scandal, corruption everywhere with zero repercussions. And it just boils my blood to realize that humans are still like wolves to their fellow humans.

I mean im not doing that bad myself but when it comes to reading about injustices, it gets to a point where i can barely feel anything but anger.

You might be onto something, but what do you do?

You know when you get old in life things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff.

Impunity is the byproduct of failed institutions, in Mexico its the byproduct of a lack of checks and balances.

On institutions where proper checks and balances were implemented we see them work perfectly.

I try not to give a fuck and care only about myself and my immediate family.

But then i go back to reading the news.

You suffer from EHS. Likely a temporary case.

I feel like defending my point of "being satisfied with what you have" point.

We as humans get way too caught up in things. Possessions. It's just stuff.

I'm not talking about poor fucks being exploited and taken advantage of. I'm just damning the culture of "keeping up with the Jones'". It's ridiculous. I have too much shit right now and I'm thinking about getting more shit. It's ingrained in me and I think it's bullshit. Rant over.

I try exactly that too, plus by and large I also stopped watching the news, and that's been quite helpful.

Its only sometimes:

Like today. I shouldn't even be in here.

News is such negative reinforcement. And there's so any good things too. You have to choose to look at those rather than the negative. I used to think doing so was for girls and imbeciles, but there's wisdom in the notion.....

Australia is seen as very low in corruption ratings.

Yet I used to drive on a 300m ramp that was built on totally flat gov owned land and paid a private corporation $1.70 for the privilege.

On a per metre basis it is more expensive than any other road, bridge or tunnel in the world.

that's the problem w/ caring about others you have no sway/effect on

inherently you're going to be disappointed

worry about your own, everything will be fine. I work for the Federal government and have never seen, heard of, or witnessed anything remotely resembling a corrupt act

Privatization baby. The GOP loves that shit. Privatize schools, roads, ditches, whatever the fuck. It means people have to pay more money, honey.
