What does a restraining order do? Absolutely nothing. It just angers the assailant even more.

A person can’t just go up to the police station and file attempted murder charges on someone. They can recant their testimony but it’s ultimately up to the PA to drop the charges. Yikes you’re coming off as clueless.

You can't blend all mentally ill people with criminal record into one person. Cases are different and psychological evaluations are different too. In this case, they must concluded that he didn't control himself, but he's also treatable.

Agreed. Percussive maintenance will never tighten a loose screw. I empathize with people suffering from mental illness. demons are real and some people's minds are their playground. For all we know, the best therapy may just be having his family forgive, moniter and rehabiliate him. However, one bad day and skipping pills could result in another episode that will make the first look like a church picnic.
