Well, Snyder confirmed to remain 2nd best.

Officially yes, but we all know the real second best is J'den Cox. Too bad we couldn't see him vs Sadulaev.Well, Snyder confirmed to remain 2nd best.

At least they got one gold for mens. Their women team did outstanding though.Disappointing showing for Japan's men's freestyle team, especially Yukio Takahashi's early exit. That's got to be rough for the 2017 world champion to fail to medal in his home country. Hopefully it isn't too hard on him.

Is Cox even better than Snyder?Officially yes, but we all know the real second best is J'den Cox. Too bad we couldn't see him vs Sadulaev.
Yeah, just kind of surprising for a country with such a strong freestyle wrestling history that's produced some of the best in the sport's history not to do better when the Olympics was in their home country. At least they got one gold for mens. Their women team did outstanding though.
Yes, he's the best American wrestler and has the best defense in the world by far.Is Cox even better than Snyder?

I'm agree

I take your point, but it has to be rough on a guy like Yuki Takahashi, having been a world champion and bronze medalist, to exit the way he did, especially so narrowly. They have something like the second highest all-time freestyle wrestling medal count historically, though a lot of that is due to their strong women's program. But at the same time, they've definitely produced a number of all-time greats of the sport.I wouldn't say so - they've only been frequently successful in the lightest couple of men's classes historically (the loss of the men's 48kg category also hit North Korea hard), they tend to win 0-2 medals at the worlds (where there are 10 weights rather than 6) and won 0 at the last worlds; and they realistically only had 2 serious contenders this time - I'm sure they'd have wanted 2 medals, but that the one they did win was gold, is probably more satisfying than 2 bronzes, so I don't think it could be called truly disappointing given how tough it is at the Olympics with everyone squeezed into 6 weight classes.
After watching. While I only give Snyder, at most, a ten percent chance to to beat him again. He wrestled the match that would actually give himself something to work on
I’m aware the chest wraps are legit scores. I’m aware of how the match went. There also was much Snyder can actually build on.Yeah, there was one takedown in that match, and it was Snyder's; but Sadulaev would just keep racking up the score by getting the better of all those little positioning battles. Maybe a chestwrap tilt doesn't look as impressive, but those points are as good as gold (literally) all the same.
A Snyder that can work on being stingier would have at the least a path to victory.

I was referring to how the entire match went and many little positions that can be easily adjusted by Snyder.
