International/Olympic wrestling discussion.

Yes. It is marketing. Whistle stops and no low kicking is literally the opposite of what pankration was.. it’s ruleset is the most close to combat sambo with nogi. It’s literally nogi combat sambo.

Low kicks are allowed.
The international federation want a better development of non Olympic wrestling styles beside a better development of Olympic styles. I think that this is a good way for wrestling. I'm agree with you about a marketing component but you must increase numbers.

Truth. FILA actually seemed to favor Greco-Roman for whatever reason and even seemed to push the idea that it was an ancient style as opposed to freestyle on their website. I don't know if UWW is the same or not. But I specifically remember FILA stating on their website that freestyle had a "far less storied history" or something tantamount to that.

UWW develops a the current freestyle wrestling ruleset. The better of all time so...

Is Chamizo charismatic? In the Kyle Dake superfight he came across as a huge asshat trash talking Dake for not being talented and training a lot.

well... yes? Muhammad Ali is considered the most charismatic athlete of the last century... in no small part thanks to his trash talk.

The UFC recently signed Paddy Pimblett, a guy who probably isn't good enough to compete for the title let alone win it, yet after 1 fight vs a jobber (which he almost lost) he already has a 1 million sponsorship deal and everyone talking about him, why? - because he talks HUGE amounts of trash.

see also Colby Covington's 'fake it till you make it' school of trash talk that got him from 'boring nobody about to be cut' to 'title shots & everyone talking about him'

so yeah, talking trash (even about your favourite wrestlers) not only doesn't not make you charismatic, it seems to be a big part of what makes you charismatic, to the general public.
Unfortunately. (see also: Conman McScumbag)

but even setting that aside: his wrestling seems to be appealing to a lot of people as well (I find him a little boring/frustrating outside of 'big moments' tbh, like most Cubans). I went to watch the Paris worlds in 2017 and my mum tuned in from home and said Chamizo was her favorite (she'd never watched 'real' wrestling before) and he 'made the american look silly', I was greatly amused...

plus he has the whole 'swag' thing going on on his instagram...

LOL you are obsessed.
You just said it wasn’t marketing then admitted it was. Literally a couple posts later.

Oh and, yes, I’m aware UWW wants tournament revenue by pushing diluted styles

Oh funny thing I realized. Did you know Chamizo has less world titles than Dake AND Burroughs?

Marketing is a component not the only reason.

Khamizo was better before the training in USA.

Yes it was completely the reason. You got caught being a hypocrite.

No lol, he got older and he faced tougher competition. He still goes to Russia and other places to train just as much as he did before

I wouldn't agree with that at all. Freestyle used to allow for a lot more ground wrestling, among other differences. I would take freestyle as it was in say, the 70's and 80's over how it is now. I don't necessarily mind the pushout rule though.

29 years old. Russia is a better place for a serious wrestling training.

His style is even more dependent on athleticism than Burroughs. He’s also not willing to make the match a street fight to compensate for aging like Burroughs did. So yes, aging and going up weight classes will affect him.

and I literally said he’s still going to Russia to train just like he did before.. stop being deliberately obtuse to try to stray away from being wrong

Seriously have you ever actually trained or competed high level?? I should not have to explain this to you. At all.

Oh and, Dake and Burroughs have more titles :)

Chamizo has not the structure of USA wrestling. It is like Brazil vs Albania in soccer.
Have you more titles than Chamizo?

Weren’t you the one who said something like
“Italy is not a great wrestling country so a medal for us is great result” when trying to pass off Chamizo as an Italian product?

Chamizo actually does have the structure of USA wrestling. He is supported by the NYC RTC and coaches the exact same way Burroughs is by the Pennsylvania RTC. The same way Taylor is supported by the Nittany Lion RTC.

All of the RTCs are under USA wrestling. Super decentralized.. but still under USA wrestling In fact Burroughs had a major issue with a USA wrestling RTC supporting Chamizo..

Chamizo has the structure and financial support of USA wrestling. He is a product of the Cuban system and goes overseas to train often.

If you’re going to make the argument about structure and institutions…. Actually know what you’re talking about

Kyle Snyder is currently visiting Sadulaev in Dagestan. It's p4p the most wholesome thing I've ever seen. I think Snyder never got that much attention in his life as he is getting at the moment in Dagestan. What a humble goat this guy is and also much respect to Sadulaev for staying true, backing up his words and having him there.

I really hope someone is making a documentary out of it. Can't get enough footage.

Sadulaev needs a training camp in USA with the best coach in the world and keyboard warrior Mr jack. Naturally with Chamizo as assistant coach.

Lmao, it's awesome. Sadulaev even facetimed Snyder when they were both in Moscow with his broken English. It's 100% wholesome, he even invited Snyder to come again (with his wife), and that Sadulaev himself would teach them how to make khinkal.

Boxing, weightlifting, and pentathlon on the chopping block from the IOC.

Have any of them called UWW as of yet for tips?

Am I ever on record saying I’m best coach in world?

As far as “keyboard warriors”. We have established pretty clearly you’re the one who does nothing but type out crap talk against America and make excuses for chamizo. I’m currently coaching and involved in actually growing the sport. In fact I’m on break at a tournament I’m coaching in right now. A tournament I set up.

But since you decided to bring me up and use term.. keyboard warrior.. are you actually doing anything asides from begging people to support beach wrestling

Given their commitment to market saturation I'm amused to see FanaticWrestling now has a Beach Wrestling instructional out.

As far as I'm aware this is the first Beach Wrestling specific training material out there so that's actually quite noteworthy - it even purports to explain the rules (which I have to admit I'm interested in finding out).

Unfortunately the beach instructor is not a fit babe from @Grappler111 's successful team of Boot Country beach battlers, but the material covered does look quite good (who wouldn't want to learn how to do the 'Kendall Cross' or the 'Schultz', not to mention four different kinds the 'Beloglazov'). I don't see anything about kicking sand into your opponent's eye though, which would be a glaring omission...

Time to work on my bod in time for Bash at the Beach 2022! (if I can find a beach around here...)

Andy is legit. One of the few guys speaking out against the stupidity in the American youth system and practicing what he preaches with his club.
