instant rematch Ronda, no instant rematch Holly, instant rematch Weidman, no rematch TJ, instant rematch Anderson, no rematch Aldo......UFC is a long way off from calling themselves a sport with the way they operate. Should label themselves "sports entertainment" like WWE.

The TJ one is the worst considering he should have won for it the dumb fuck judge scoring rounds 4 and 5 for Cruz. Ronda got KOed! Weidman got absolutely smashed in. Pathetic. Joe Silva is a worthless midget fuck.

Cruz clearly won that fight.

I thought TJ was a lock for a title shot because when I watched it live I actually thought he won a very close fight. Aldo not getting a rematch after holding and defending the belt so long was a surprise also. But to be fair, this isn't like the NBA or NFL, which leave no discretion as to who qualifies for the playoffs and championship. Matchmaking allows for discretion, which is always going to satisfy some and upset others.

Maybe because there's no other legit contender in those weight classes at the time? Also, Aldo had his chance but he blew it. He could've been Nate but he was scared.

Rounds 4 and 5 don't even matter, Cruz won the first 3.

Aldo has the full right for that rematch. For Holly, I don't think that would be a good idea for her anyways. What's the point of her getting a rematch, if she gets almost choked to death again. She has to work on her ground game. What is bad for her though, is that if Ronda wins the belt again, Dana won't let Holly near her ever again.

That being said, Dana is a dick for not giving Amanda Nunes a shot for that title.

Let's do the numbers. I'm not making a judgment call either way. Although, the Silva one was fairly obvious.

Ronda Rousey - Undefeated prior to losing the title, won her title in August 2012 and defended it six times over three years, then lost it in November 2015. Immediate title shot rematch (albeit to a different opponent) may be granted, not sure yet.
Holly Holm - Also undefeated prior to losing the title, but won her title in November 2015 and did not defend it, losing her first defense in March 2015. No rematch, it seems.

See a difference?

Chris Weidman - Undefeated prior to losing the title, won his title in July 2013, defended it three times over two years, then lost it in December 2015. Rematch granted.
Anderson Silva - Won his title in October 2006, defended his title 10 times and also won at LHW 3 times over SEVEN years, then lost it in July 2013. Rematch granted.

If you think Anderson didn't deserve an immediate rematch after defending his title ten times, that's unfortunate but old news as he was granted the rematch and lost. Weidman may not deserve the rematch as much, but that is your opinion (and mine as well, which doesn't matter).

TJ Dillashaw - Won his title in May 2014, defended his title two times over 20 months, then lost it in January 2016 by split decision. No rematch.

Jose Aldo - Won his title in the WEC in June 2009, defended his WEC title two times, then upgraded to UFC title during the merge, and defended that title seven times for over four and a half years, then lost it in December 2015. No immediate title shot rematch yet but may be granted, but still possible.

Discretion of the UFC. There's a long history of rematches being determined by financial gain.

I understand and support Ronda getting a rematch, Anderson getting a rematch, Holly not getting a rematch, and TJ not getting a rematch. That's simply the perks of being a dominant champ compared to not being a dominant champ.

I don't agree with Chris getting a rematch. Aldo deserves to get a rematch but I can understand why he wouldn't even though I don't personally agree with it

Boo-hoo go watch baseball. MMA causes you too much grief.

Ronda fighting Tate doesn't bother me because it's only "immediate" on one side of the coin. My problem with immediate rematches, for the most part, is holding up divisions and not giving the next top contender his/her shot. In the Ronda/Holly/Tate situation, that didn't happen - Tate got her shot and won. Now that that fight has happened, I have no problem with Ronda getting the next shot without having to win another fight first.

I would feel the same about Aldo. He shouldn't get the next shot at Conor for the title, Frankie should. But it wouldn't bother me much at all if Aldo sat around and waited for Conor/Edgar to happen and then fought the winner.

Weidman shouldn't be getting an immediate rematch based on the beating he took from Luke, but my understanding is it's only happening because Romero pissed hot and, besides Romero, I don't see another obvious/worthy contender.

Holly had a huge win over Rousey after two lackluster performances in the UFC. Even if Rousey wasn't waiting in the wings to fight Tate, Holm should have to win at least one more before getting another title shot.

TJ deserves a shot more than Faber, but it's not like he had some amazing title reign before losing to Cruz. Faber is obviously a decision based entirely on money.

Comparing anyone to Anderson is silly.

And the UFC is sports entertainment.
