Obviously they will both have to win their upcoming fights but it seems like this will happen for sure after if they do. For me this is the biggest fight in boxing right now and it's nice to see a big fight get set up without a drawn out negotiation period.

I can't wait for this. Both guys need to win, but this one is probably the biggest fight of the year. 32-0 vs 32-0. I'll take Inoue, but it should be a firefight.

I'm really hoping Naoya Inoue's 2026 is Nakatani into Nick Ball (assuming Ball beats Brandon Fig). Some amazing fights.

this will be a completely diff fight from sebastian hernandez. both guys looking for precise openings. neither will rush in. but i think inoue’s superior speed will take over.

That’s true. I don’t see Nakatani being able to survive Inoue’s power though. They’re both finishers, and very technical. Should be a great fight

Glad they both won and it's still on although Nakatani barely scraped by Hernandez. I always favored Inoue and now I think I do even more so.

I don't really think the aspects that helped Hernandez in that fight are shared by Inoue. He doesn't have his size or style. I think it's still a very hard fight for him.

average fans are way too ignorant to discount nakatani (because of the hernandez fight)

nakatani has gone up 4 wt classes in the last 4 years. that's a crazy pace.
and he's knocked out everyone until he moved up and fought a bigger, stronger hernandez.

hernandez is an extremely hard fight for anyone at 122.
that was not nakatani's best performance. not a good strategy. he looked fatigued in the latter rounds.
but at the same time, hernandez is that good. he deservedly is now recognized as a top 5 jr featherwgt.
