Injuries will naturally happen in this game, but the amount of cards recently that have been ruined by the very last minute injuries has been so annoying for us fans. I cant remember a time when so many fights have been cancelled, postponed etc. We wait for months only to be disappointed.

Should the UFC explore some sort of system that seeks to prevent fighters from these last minute injuries at least within a couple of weeks out from competition?

Obviously the fighters cant be wrapped in cotton wool and told not to train, but perhaps if they were restricted in what they do in some shape or form within a close time frame of fighting (e.g. heavy sparring etc) that could help.

If you were Dana, what would you seek to change, if anything?

The UFC is starting to run seminars/training sessions where coaches and fighters can come together and share best practices for avoiding injury.

They can't force a fighter to train a certain way and they certainly can't fine one for withdrawing from a fight.

stuff is always going to happen. no rules, sanctions, or regulations are going to change that. fighters are going to train the way their coaches want them to train, injuries will happen, and people will pull out.

didn't kevin randleman knock himself out like an hour before one of his fights?

stuff happens

its up to people to train smarter which is their own prerogative unfortunately

They can money punish fighters that do stupid things few days before fight.

I wish they could enforce a rule where fighters can't spar at all 2 weeks leading up to the actual event.

It's fair, because all the fighters would be subject to the new rule, so it doesn't favor or hurt anyone else as much as the next man.
