Waking up to injury news all the time sucks

I'm sick I was worried about Khabib getting hurt, and instead of Cowboy vs Ferguson (like I figured it'd end up being) it turned out to be Cowboy v Khabib!

Like the DC injury was a blow, but this is just the icing on the cake , one of my favs out and perhaps my all time fav stepping in.. I'm just scared tbh

These pull outs happen, yes, but it seems this year's are extra hard to just get over

Legit can't even get yourself excited anymore when you hear of awesome matchups, until they're in the cage together

This will probably be the fight Donald gets hurt in & be taken out of the Cote fight, I just can't see him emerging from a fight on 11 days notice with Khabib unscathed even if he does manage to win

But, what d'you guys think ? Who's walking away with this W?

I said it back when Tim Means and Cain dropped that 2016 was gonna be one of those years.

Since then RDA, DC, and now El Cucuy have all dropped out and we just got into April.

Injuries wouldn't be a problem if other fighters would step up on short notice
Eh I disagree though that's not always what matters, what if its a matchup you're really looking forward to between 2 specific fighters?

There's only 500 guys on the roster and half have visa issues. UFC has their hands tied.

You should talk Tony.

You sure did fuck up that FOX 19 main event.

Thanks.

Injuries suck but there is always threads like these saying "this year is the worst" I think this year hasn't been as bad so far compared to this time the last few years concerning injuries. Still pretty bad though.

Injuries are just part of the game. Just gotta roll with it..

Fun Facts:

-In the Unstoppable press conference Ferguson berated Khabib for injuries and to try to make it to the fight injury-free.

-Cormier admitted on the mma hour that he was full blown sparring 3 weeks out from the fight (obviously without leggaurds) and checking kicks that are hard enough to smash the ligaments in his leg.

UFC better have backup fighter for Nate Diaz can see it coming mile away

its been like this for a few years now, it sucks so much. you're forgeting Conor vs RDA, another injury this year at UFC 196

Does boxing have this problem to the same extent?

No, because they don't train like meathead idiots.

Thais spar without shinguards all the time but guess what? They're not meathead idiots.

Only 195 has stayed together as planned. Original 196 dropped to fs1. Then the Rda thing, then dc, and now tony. Fuck it. How surprising is it that Cruz and khabib are healthy. Was sure either guy would pull out like a prom date but they haven't yet. Hell it might be two in a row for Dom. Would have thought with his run 1st, fight 2nd style he wouldn't make it through the year.

But yeah this year has been shit sandwiched by two great main events. Hopefully 198 stays together. I don't care if 199 gets scrapped. 200 is a lot of rematches too so hopefully they don't waste any fresh new fights that people are dying to see on that card. Probably a good place for jones and dc to land.

Frustrating but not much we can do about it. I try not to get too excited about fight cards too early for that reason.

Fighters do step up on short notice all the time.

Injuries are still a problem.

Yeah I hope camps look into their training practices seriously.
