I guess. I just wouldn't give the investigators too much credit for their methods, more than I would his utter stupidity. He kind of gave them the alley oop on that one.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I think they traced the time the disc was made, and he was the only guy who would've had access to the computer at that time. Something like that.

Personally, I think he got bored, and wanted to get caught. Like they say with these psychos, what's the point of being an infamous serial killer if nobody knows who you are?

BTK went cold didn’t it? And then many years later he came back and they found him.

Yes. He stopped killing for a while but couldn't stand to be out of the spotlight. He was a narcissist in addition to being a psychopath.
