India buys weapon systems from Russia

To be fair to India and its domestic problems.
It is the most peaceful country from all the nuclear powers.

What it lacks in any strategic military need to attack it makes up for in domestic rabidry.

The strategic alliances between states here is chequered - India has always been one of the Soviets strongest allies and is still in allegiance to modern day Russia. Inimical toward China however due to there support of Pakistan and claims over Indian provinces.

Pakistan is a puppet for both US and China. It’s a hotbed for gangsters, drug smugglers and spies working for both US and Chinese intelligence. Strongly Inimical toward India.

China and Russia are neutral toward each other. I think they’re both trying there best to keep things this way. Neither of them likely trust the five eyes or their minions but at the same time I can’t see any willing and favoured intelligence agreements between the two either.

People here are two pessimistic and sensationalist though. India probably has stronger economic ties to China than even the US.

They’ve also invested a lot in Japan. Probably 60% of motors in India are Japanese. Signing this deal seems more like a Russian assertion rather than an Indian one.

Because countries never sell their best weapons to other countries. Their best weapons are for their use only in defence and attack.
The current sale by Russia to India is likely outdated 3rd rate material.

Whenever such deals take place the country making the sale will sell their previous generation weapons so they can bring in newer ones while making good money out of it.

So when Russia sells to China, Syria and India, or when the US and UK sell to Saudi, Israel and India. They're actually offloading their junk to these technologically inferior countries.

Hell Israel themselves sell their junk, which was already someone else's junk, to India.
This why the idea of India being a "superpower" is laughable. They can't even make their own weapons. Actually it's better if they didn't. But they'll still get annihilated when met with something that isn't 3rd rate, outdated, surplus to requirement trash that they bought.
They're a backwards country with primitive tech and always will be. At best they might become a poor man's Germany, but they'll always be a pawn for the west to play with.

Same goes for China, obviously far better though. Their tech and weapons are below Russian level and Russian weaponry is inferior to Western weaponry.

I know none of the top weapons producing nations sell their best stuff, I was meaning their best export grade weapon systems.

The problem with India is their corruption and nepotism. They are rising economically and have noticeably raised living standards and pulled a large chunk of people out of severe poverty. Internal cultural issues is screwing them.

India is trying to catch up on its own as well but admittedly they are a good two decades behind. However, things are moving in that direction. There is no longer a british empire my friend and britain is the 3rd rate power in the world now.

They can barely handle a failed state like Pakistan. And now China is surrounding them in their own backyard by buying out Pakistan and Sri lanka. Pathetic India can't even exert influence on her neighbours.

You're still under the Western sphere of influence. They just do it in a modern way through economics and trade. The same people who colonised you now control NATO, the big banks and corporations and you follow their lead. If they tell you to do something you'll follow them yet nobody will listen to India on anything.
