This guy has honestly turned out to be the most overrated fighter of the generation.

His story arc was supposed to end after he KO’d poatan. Because of his hubris, he kept fighting and is now cursed to lose every fight until he retires.

Three of those were title fights , meaning he fought the best guys... And his strength of schedule is GOAT at 185.

He had 75 kickboxing fights before the UFC and actively fought top contenders for like 6 years straight in mma so he has a lot of mileage. There's a lot of fighters who's resumes you can go to at 35+ and nitpick losses like even fedor

Crazy how time flies. Feels like just yesterday he was defending the belt against Costa.

He's basically a Pide fighter.

He's just also past 35 and so it makes sense instead of being past it at 27

It's rare for a fighter to know when to leave right as their prime ends. They can't all be GSP.

Izzy's case is a bit weird because he's not that old and we can't say for certain he wouldn't have lost to the same guys a few years ago. Imavov I'm not sure about, Pereira always had his number to an extent and he lucked out with that KO, I feel like Strickland would beat any version of Izzy and DDP... I don't know.

Got to remember, Izzy lost a rd against Silva who was in his 40s and lost 2 rds against Kelvin Gastelum....

Dayum, since 2021 he’s lost more fights than he’s won.

Remember when Dricus made him cry after calling him out for being spoiled as a kid?

I never saw what it seemed like a lot of others did. Just because he’s a lanky black dude fighting at MW which has almost always had the depth of a birdbath, doesn’t make him Anderson. Never liked his personality either.

It is hilarious to me, how just because a guy starts losing at the end of his career, how people can say a fighter was over rated his whole career. To say that, tells me, that you have only been watching a short time. If that is the case, then Fedor is grossly over rated, as was Anderson Silva. Adesanya was 23-1 when he fought one of the biggest current stars in the UFC, Alex Pereira. He lost, then came back and knocked him out cold! If that is over rated, then you don't know what you're talking about. Izzy has has a GREAT career.

He lost to the best of the best. I get that people hate him but let's be a bit serious.

You know, probably the best striker Anderson fought was TRTor, and the best fighter he fought was Weidman.

Alex, Jan, Imavov, DDP, even Strickland are tougher fights for Anderson than anyone he has ever fought outside Weidman to whom he lost twice.

I don't think prime Anderson beats any of those guys either. Maybe Strickland? Anderson had a great run, but he fought in the era of the really weak mw division.

Izzy deserves respect for the run he had. And he didn't need no roids either.

People were talking about him beating Jon at LHW. He is and was overrated. Doesn’t mean he isn’t really good, but he’s not on the level of the greats.

Alex Pereira became a double champion without fighting a solid grappler. Guy doesn’t even have cauliflower ear and his guard looks like he’s getting a gyno exam.

I'm not even an Izzy stan, but he had too many titles defenses and title fights to be the most overrated of a generation. gtfo
