In case of an OSP upset, is he the greatest journeymen in MMA history?

What you think, Sherbros: Saint Preux, new interim champ, first to beat bones and with a ko victory over shogun.

OSP has a small amount of Hype when he came, he was quite impressive actually, but when you place him next to a GOAT, it's tought to picture him beating Jones anywhere at anytime. KO is possible also, but since seeing Jones obliterate Machida, I can't see OSP winning, infact I think this may be Jones next quick finish since Chael Sonnen.

If he wins
he makes good on his dream in life
even if he can't defend it...

hamill is a journeyman that already beat jones, brutally.

I think people will fault the toll that Jones' RL shenanigans have taken. You can't do that much blow, do time, etc, and come back the same. Jones wasn't gone like Tyson, but guaranteed it's cost him in performance.

Doubt OSP can finish Jones, though. But he's cruising for a wakeup call...

you aren't a journeyman if you win the title

That would be the biggest upset ever. The odds on this fight should be insane.

That would be a true, "I shook up the world" moment.

Full camp OSP wins easily. Since this isn't full camp OSP Jones has an edge.

No. Jones would be a huge win for OSP, but he's probably a better fighter than Dennis Hallman ever was. And Hallman beat hughes twice

I've been a fan of OSP for a long time and had high hopes for him. He's never quite lived up to his potential, but he's been a relevant LHW for quite some time. If he beat Jon, it would be huge and unexpected. But it wouldn't be mindblowing because he's near the top. We'll likely never have another Matt Serra-GSP moment because the situation for Matt earning the shot was so unique.

He won't be a journeyman then, and he's not one now. If Jones wasn't as dominant as he was OSP would be in the title mix

I get what you are saying about OSP but the truth is that dominant champions keep more people in the mix. When the champion changes constantly, only half of the top 5 has faced the champ before. A champ who has already beaten the top 5 tends to make them dig deeper for fresh meat.

Soto could have done it against Dillashaw, but TJ wasn't an established champ.

Or if Bethe beat R3...

I guess my point was that I think OSP would be competitive vs Gus or Rumble tbh, Cormier is a bad matchup. But in the thin LHW division, I don't see him as a journeyman
