in a close fight does the decision always go to the more popular fighter?

Ya, I guess it's hard to make a fact of something as disputed as a close fight.
You’d have stats that show your hypothesis is true. Send it to the plaintiff’s lawyers for their class action. It’ll be worth millions.

Kelvin Gastelum x Till
Romero x Costa
Wonderboy x Till
Romero x Adesanya

Looks like it lol
glad someone had good examples.
mcgregor vs diaz shogun vs Machida

volk v Holloway, dj v triple C would be the argument for the other way

I'll Fax you the details after Jan 6

I have the opinion that you have to beat the champ to be the champ. That doesn't mean you have to knock him out or stop him but just beat him. The biggest robbery in my opinion was MM vs Cejudo. DJ hadn't really had a challenge in close to a decade so the first guy to give him some problems they strip his belt from him. That is not a way to end such amazing winning streak! DJ won the fight but still handled himself with class. A takedown where you do no damage and other person gets back up should not count at all. It was a pathetic decision! Cejudo could be my dad and I would still say he lost that fight!
