Imagine if the replacement for Cormier is Overeem, then Jones would be facing the same decision

That conor had. That's the LHW equivalent of the change up that UFC threw Conor's way.

I just hope Jones takes a fight. If not then Dana can kiss that PPV good-bye.

How is that the LHW equivalent of what Conor had with Nate? Nate usually weighs in at 155 which is 10 lbs heavier than Conor's weigh ins. Whereas Overeem weighs in a few lbs north of 240 which is almost 40 lbs heavier than Jones' usual weigh in. That's not the equivalent at all.

Kinda sucks for rumble in a sense that he likely hasn't been training for a fight- and jones is the last person you want to take on short notice

And I think Rumble is actually Jones touhgest matchup

Dude, Jones is not fighting at UFC 197, deal with it

Retarded thread, Nate is a 155er he was only out of shape. The real equivalent would be facing Rumble on HW

No, an equivalent analogy would be Cormier pulling out of the fight, a laundry list of LHWs and HWs pleading to be the replacement, and Jones choosing Overeem from that list. The UFC didn't "throw" anything at Conor.

Nate Diaz steps in and submits Jones in the second.

There's absolutely no way Jon Jones would accept to fight Overeen.

We all know Jones isn't a warrior like Conor.

However he's smart (in making fight decisions, not when making should I drive my car decisions). Conor lost his shot at LW title by moving up. Jones doesn't want that. Some people think that's the right move. Personally I think it's cowardly and speaks a lot about someone's character, but I understand it.

Sure, but Overeem isn't cutting any weight to make ~240 lbs, that's his real weight. Jones doesn't weigh 205 lbs inside the cage. So while there is a big different in weight between the two, it's not 40 lbs.

Nope because Overeem outweighs Jones by like 50 pounds that's a bit of a stretch.
No he doesn't. Overeem weighs 240-245 lbs inside the cage, Jones probably weighs ~215-220 lbs inside the cage. You have to remember that Overeem weighs ~240 without cutting weight, Jones are cutting weight to make 205 lbs. So the difference in weight between the two is not 50 lbs, it's closer to 25 lbs.

Jones won't engage with Overeem, he'd just run circles away from him. AO cancels out all of Jones's advantages. He would run for 5 rounds.

So you think Overeem weigh 245 walking around umm no lol he loses weight as he does his training camp. My point still stands because Nate only outweigh Conor by 10 pounds.
